ArenaNet You don’t need to make a article talking about what is “Endgame”(https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/the-endgame-reimagined/) in GW2. You already state it clear what was the REAL thing about this game. I been following you seen’s the day GW2 was announce and in 2010 when you people started dropping gameplay video around youtube and information in the internet. All this people(this certain PART of the gaming community) DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. They don’t understand what GW2 is about and they have lose the real definition of what “END GAME” means and what REPLAY VALUE is, thanks to some standard some company fixed into there heads because of Fanboy vision. ArenaNet I know, and does who play this game properly, have experience exactly this:
ArenaNet please, maintain your philosophy, hold your ground, your way of thinking, this game is actually something else. Stop talking about “Endgame” that’s not your approach, your approach is back to the root, of fun and MORE content(yes this, Talk about this). People have a wrong perception about what is end game, because that other game have fix it into there head’s and every CLONE out of that one, and or the old one’s fail because it. People are crying for something new, but they don’t know how to ask for it.
PEOPLE ENDGAME don’t mean: RAID, DUNGEON, ARMOR AND WEAPON GRIDING, PVP ARMOR AND WEAPON GRINDING, DAILY OR WEEKLY GRINDING, WAITING FOR QUEUE FOR PVE OR PVP INSTANCES, more senseless quest grinding. This is just part of the content, and is part of the things you choose to do on the game.
ENDGAME mean, just end of the game, and THAT IT. STOP using the term in the wrong WAY.
What game’s should go back to, is REPLAY VALUE, and that’s is something that GW2 offer. From level 1 to 80. When you get to level 80 for me mean that I HAVE NO, LIMITATION ON THE CONTENT, that means, that I can do anything, everything, whenever I want, with the people I want. Thanks to; Scratch out HOLY TRINITY, LEVEL SCALING and ridiculous ARMOR set grinding that is stupid, because it may you repeat content, you probably dislike, just to get a advance armor piece or set that will let you enter the best instance you desire, just to get into the same circle of repeating the same process.
Newer MMO games are not failing because, they successfully making fun games, is because both COPY the standard a fixed mechanics of MMO progression and then unsuccessfully add the fun to the game. Leaving the REPLAY VALUE out, because the community don’t know what ENDGAME mean’s and what REPLAY VALUES use to be in games.
Now in or day’s judging by the community who desperately ask for “endgame”, I think that almost every game that come out have zero endgame, and they still waste $60 on the game, waste over 100+ hrs repeating the same thing, doing the same match, and repeating the same cheap mechanics all over again, and they don’t complain, they just trow the money.
Look at all the example: COD franchise(Same mechanics, 8 games), Blizzard world of warcraft(all expansion seen Burning Crusade, to upcoming Mist of Pandaria, quest grinding to level up until level cap, when the player decides to either grind for PvE armor for difficult dungeons or for Raids and PvP armor grinding for Arena or normal PVP, and also unbalance heirlooms armor for lower level, A good amount of people no longer caring for the lore. Just grinding.), Battlefield 3(Same old Battlefield, with more graphics a little bigger than COD franchise, but debatable with old title like BF2, and I mean not just MAP SIZE, less content so then, release later at higher price, and same old FPS mechanics), Final Fantasy franchise(The same old JRPG, that’s been decaying from the last years, because they have gone away from there roots’ but keeps the same old mechanics, like turn base, except, FFXI, FFXII and FFXIV. In the Turn base I understand that is my opinion and I got tired of turn base like battle with random encounters, if you still like that, good for you.) and there’s more mainstream games with old good sequels out there that are falling into it.
Anyway what I m trying to say is; “you need to hold the line, hold your position in the front line, we get trough this.” and don’t fall on to what some of the community say’s. Keep you eye on bringing the new content(Because we haven’t seen all the Elder dragons) and most specially does who are getting hacked, and are not playing, better security, try harder on customer support, maintain your REAL customers, and care for the community that actually give something to share with the community and you guys, because even so, many of the people DID not understand the last trailer, I did…
