To my knowledge the stat improvement is lack luster, only a handful of increases.
What if instead of increasing the stats, add a 4th stat?
I think it’s fair.

Honestly, you add any more stats, you make vertical what Anet wants horizontal.

That almost sounds dirty…

What did ANET do when the sheer mass of the event ZERG was too much for the server to support?
They had to SPAWN MORE OVERFLOWS!

Hmm could you explain to me the Vertical vs Horizontal?
To my knowledge doing this would be no different than if they added level 90 armor. (armor went from 1 stat to 2 stats then 3 stats.)

You have pieces with 4 stats already, just pay a visit to the laurel vendor.

Now Vertical vs Horizontal, to put it simple:
Vertical would be introducing more and more gear tiers, basically creating a gear treadmill.
Horizontal would be something on the line of traits, or unlocking different weapons for each profession.

This is what anet is aiming for, so don’t be surprise if in the next years you won’t see any increment in stats.

The point is, that legendaries consume a lot of time and gold, just for the skin (and you can switch your stats… wow)
On the one hand this is reasonable to hold the game horizontal.
On the other hand you just wasting a hell lot of mats on a skin.
