My suggestion is to make Ascended Gear purchasable for Badges of Honor. Also make Badges of Honor only obtainable through killing players in WvW and remove JP and World Completion from WvW. Also replace legendary requirement of Badges of Honor with something else from PvE and also make legendary weapons obtainable through a large amount of just Badges of Honor. That would fix so many problems with game right now. Let hardcore WvW players get Ascended Gear without PvEing. Fix some que issues with WvW. Don’t force players who just want to PvE to grind so much in WvW. Please look into this and if anyone agrees and have more suggestions about this post them bellow and keep bumping this thread. I like this suggestion, but I believe it’s against the ToS to bump threads. I think you have to make something positive up that advances the conversation.

I believe that Ascended Gear from non-WvW activities has some impact on WvW players but that said impact is quite low. If, however, there continues to be additional Ascended stuff available in PvE, then WvW players will be forced to play a form of the game that they don’t necessarily want to. This would be contrary to propaganda posted by Arenanet in the past, so I suspect something will become available via WvW activity in the future instead, though I guarantee nothing. Enough waffle from me, now onto the next bumper…

Hi I am a WvW player as well, I like to do some dungeons too, I don’t enjoy that much JP
I stop playing WvW because it was not fun fighting every week 10 vs 50 due the free home transfer, but I found that finished, ok, WvW I’m back.
But I find that even with my full exotic gear, craftet by myself I cant reach same stats of other players, the reason is ascended items; ok I’m gonna try get them, wait a second I must do a lot of runs in a dungeon and that dundeon has some jp as well? I don’t like this, I do not want to be forced to do dungeons to play with same stats in WvW, I’m totally agree with this suggestion, I don’t want to fight with a hadicap just because I don’t enjoy that much the dungeons

Here are some easy maths about this issue,

(Ascended) Red Ring of Death: pow: 103 pre: 68 crit-dmg: 8%
total (2 rings): 206, 136, 16%

(Exotic) Ruby O Ring of Berserker (with exquisite Ruby jewel): pow: 69 pre: 63 crit-dmg: 6%
total (2 rings): 138, 126, 12%

difference – 80 power, 10 precision, 4% critical damage

-.Amulet.-

(Ascended) Mark of the Tethyos Houses: pow: 126 pre: 85 crit-dmg: 9%

(Exotic) Ruby Orichalcum Amulet of the berserker: pow: 115 pre: 79 crit-dmg: 8%

difference – 11 power, 6 precision, 1% critical damage

Total difference (advatage – disadvantage of asceded over exotic jewerly)

91 power, 16 precision, 5% critical damage

I hope ANet look at this and do not force us (WvW players) to do dungeons, or wait 3 months to get the jewerly and even with that running dungeons too.

Note: I do not want ascended items for free, badges are a good idea to pay for them and totally agree about remove them from the reward of the JP, it’s kinda annoying to see how while enemy is hitting at door of the Garrison while people is doing JP and real pvpers are in que.

When the zerg is on you, how much value will that 91 power, 16 precision and 5% crit actually do you? I don’t even have full rare gear, let alone full exotics and I still kill people just as well as anyone else. No one actually NEEDs the best gear in WvW. No one is forced to do anything they don’t want to just because there is a new best in slot available.

Agree aswell, keep the Gift of Battle, tho and just lessen the amount of Badges you get from JP’s

+1 on this. However I’d probably be a sad panda after I spent a bunch of badges on siege.

I agree, but leave the Gift of battle for legendary. The whole point of Legendary is the “Been there done that” , so ppl ca see who was actualy thro the whole game. Sadly most PvEers just farm JPs for the badges, change that by removing badges from JPs . Legendaries can be a good tool to make new players join WvW for the Skin, and stay for the fun of they like it .

I don’t see the issue with farming the JP for badges. I do it because I don’t like WvW much. I do PvE and am not a noob thank you very much. People have different playing styles, and it’s not fair to only consider your stance on this matter.

It’s not that I have not given WvW a try. I’m a commander, I’ve led and observed exp trains, but at the end of the day I perfer PvE with my guild. Why would it bother you that people use the JP for badges? It takes just as much time and skill to actually do it – the JP itself (I’m thinking of Obsidian Sanctum) is long enough as it is. Include people that try and farm other players and stop others from completing the JP and you’ve got a situation that is often harder than being part of a zerg or meeting randoms and going one-on-one.

Point being, hating on the JP is definitely not something worth fixing. ANet has other more pressing issues to deal with.

JPs in WvW are friendly, so skip that excuse, and you only need one mesmer , and you got badges for all the alts. If you want Badges adn no kills , maybe we want Ectios, Obsidian shards, Lodestones and the other things from just being in WvW ?
Not to mention the original wish of the post, Ascended gear.

I want badges for my legendary, it’s not an excuse. I can kill people in WvW no problem, but I would rather spend my time doing things in the actual game world, not confined to the same repetitive thing on 4 small maps. You want all the cool things that come with PvE? Well sorry mate, you’re going to actually have to pull your weight in something other than a zerg.

The difference is, I need to do a wide variety of things for the goal I have in mind, encouraging me to grow as a player. I do not only use the JP, I play WvW when guildies/friends ask me to come, no problem.

As for the Mesmer issue, I agree that’s a load of crap. It’s an issue on its own and I consider it cheating.

But like I said before: you take out JP badges, fine. I’ll just go and kill more in WvW. But if you really think ANet will give PvE items for people who don’t grind for it like the rest of us do, and don’t actually do anything in the GW2 world, then you’ve gone bonkers. I seriously don’t think it’s fair. Ascended gear is better, fine. But it’s main use is in fractals. What are you going to do with the agony resistance? Do you even know what it is? Did you know that that was the reason for making ascended gear in the first place?

Yes, originaly it was for for the resistance, but now when you can get full set of it in pve, its quite the stat difrence. Sure, make Pve ones agony ressitance, but give us ascended gear wich can give us , Idk Siege Reistance?

It’s also quite hard to get a full set of ascended gear.

You’re looking at 6 guild missions + 5g or 40 laurels + 50 ecto for each accessory.
For amulet its another 30 laurels.
For each ring, it’s 10 pristine relics each or play fractals long enough that you get the ring you want as a random drop (only one chance a day at that mind you).

People who have ascended gear have put in the work, lol.
