I dont want anything to do with ascended items and the crafting of them but i have an insane amount of mats for them now.
Not only are they taking up more inventory space than anything else i have,
they are also replacing drops i could sell.
This is a burden on those who dont want to participate in your game changes.
It’s almost as if we are being pushed towards crafting ascended items whether we want to or not, and for those of us who want ascended stuff, youre making it more difficult for them by making the mats account bound, stopping them from buying any mats they need amd forcing them to grind for it all.

Why not make these new mats sellable then everyone wins?

If not, how about a tick box on the account that opts out of ascended everything, so we dont have to be inundated with this useless detritus?

p.s. sorry if this topic is a common one, didnt have time to search on it.

Hmmm I think the ascended mats wouldn’t sell for much on the trading post tbh, so wouldn’t be much point. I’d rather have an option to transform any ascended mats like bloodstone dust, empyreal fragments etc. into other materials that you will use – like Anet has done with the vial of whatever-its-called mists essence from fractals, used for making ascended backpieces.

Maybe try making some of the items like that you can sell, like deldrimore steel or spiritwood planks.

Neither of those items require any dropped ascended mats to make…

and the bloodstone bricks that i could make with the dropped mats i get are account bound.

Anet just has to implement more useful ways to let us do somethign with the horrendous amount of bloodstone dust and ascendent fragments, as also dragonite ore.

These 3 drop by far the most oftenly and need more ways to make somethign with them, without being forced first to raise a crafting job to 450.

There need to be recipes, or mystic forge recipes, that let you do somethign with these mats already at a Job Level of 400 and thats exactly something, I’ve suggested some time ago …

Next patch will come ascendend armors, they surely will require again just the jobs at 450 or higher, before we can use the mats …

Jeweler needs to become finally 500 too, so that we can create with the new mats new exotic and asdecendant upgrade items

NAet made something like this lately by addign a new mystig forge recipe for creating ascednent back items, that lets us replace one item for a stack of bloodstone dust.

The game needs more of this…

The Stuff for example should be used to upgrade equipment in quality and level.

Say you receive a lvl 50 item as loot of blue quality.

Use this item with crafting (weapon/armorsmith)with at least Job Level 250 to be able to REFINE the item.

Item + 50 Bloodstone Dust + Weapon Part of Higher Quality + Weapon Part of Higher Quality = Basic Item is now Lvl 50 Item of Higher Quality than before (Green)

Item + 50 Ascendent Fragments + Weapon of Higher Level + Weapon of Higher Level = Basic Item’s Level raises from 50 to 60

That way you can upgrade your items that have skins maybe you like, have a use for those t7 mats at early crafting levels and have something, with that you can make crafting exp at those early levels too by refining your equipmentto better qualities and higher levels (making them literally stronger through these 2 processes, whats the sense behind refining an item)

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

At the very least they should let us toss the ascended materials into the mystic forge to get something different.

I’d be willing to spend gold to get Empyreal Fragments since my particular gameplay style leaves me with a dearth of them but plenty of Dragonite and Bloodstone.

Since I’m short of Emps I have to change the way I want to play and either gamble on the unreliable return in WvW (one can go through a whole night in defensive fights and not getting a single one) or subject myself to the tedium of collecting them from open world chests.

The other options aren’t really choices for me. I loathe Jumping Puzzles, my friends don’t want to do Explorer Mode dungeons and Guild Missions are not unreliable even though I’m in a very active guild, they just don’t do them that much.

Frankly it’s a little amazing that given all those choices ArenaNet still found activities giving Emps that are for me either unreliable sources, difficult to arrange or just plain unpleasant. Particularly in comparison to Dragonite and Bloodstone whose activities are far more entertaining for the way I play.

Which gets back to the OP’s suggestion. There are probably players out there who like many of the activities that give Emps and perhaps do not like the ones that give Dragonite (I assume everyone has stacks of Bloodstone, stuff is more common than manure in a cow paddy). If there was a way to sell the stuff between players, this would be a win-win solution.

If I could just buy the things then I would actually be able to play the game I wanted, which I thought was one of the main goals in the first place.

Part of the reason anet set it up the way they did is so people get out and explore more areas of the game then what they are used to.

They also said that they were making a new tier of mats/gear for people to buy and sell on the TP. That never happened. Not sure what went wrong, but making this stuff all sellable on the TP seems like a no-brainer.
