So recently this happened to me. I Was preparing to make an ascended armor piece and misread some info on the internet. I crafted a vision crystal but only needed a lesser vision crystal. The one I crafted was 2.5x the value and It turns out I do not need it for the piece I was making. I don’t really need it at all. Worse, I was researching a way to reverse this and there doesn’t seem to be a way. With the amount of time invested into gathering all the resources it takes to make these items, It would be nice if you did not lose all that time on a mistake.

Proposition:
A special NPC where you can trade vision crystals for lesser vision crystals , 1 for 2 , you still lose a bit but its more acceptable.

Allow us to deconstruct it at crafting vendor and get the supplies back.

Are you sure you won’t need it? I’ve made just 2 ascended things, light pants/coat, and the coat needed a vision crystal. So too will the Light of Dwayna backpiece. If you’re never making another ascended thing, I feel your pain, but if you want to eventually — hey, you’ve got a big piece of it ready to go.

Still yes, some way of undoing a major crafting error like that would be very nice.

I agree as well, since I did the same mistake. Fortunately I have more than one armor and weapon to make still.

Also, it would be nice to salvage ascended rings and back items for some ascended ingredients like mist essences or others.
