Is there a thread on this already? I would like to see what suggestions people have come up with or if there has been any official response but I have not seen anything. To some extent I understand and appreciate the mechanics but at this point my 4 main characters all have at least 2 ascended rings each and I have at least another 40 rings in the bank. Seems sad to think about doing anything else with them other than hold onto them but they are starting to take up a lot of bank space.

I also feel like we should be able to use pristine relics to buy fractal weapons. I like that they are hard to get and of course I understand the logic that ANET wants us to come back every day to try and get them, but I have two fractal GS now and I don’t even really like that one so much. There are 3 or 4 others I would much rather have but whatever RNG is RNG but perhaps letting us use pristine relics for weapons would be reasonable, even it was an unreasonable amount. 50? 75? even 100 pristine relics a weapon would at least be something to shoot for while trying to get one. Or is there any plan of making them tradable some day?

As far as rings my suggestions would be:

Let us trade them on TP. Please?
Mystic Forge recipe for laurels.
Mystic Forge recipe for pristine relics.
Mystic Forge recipe for regular relics.
Salvage for guaranteed 4-7 Ecto.

There have been similar posts to yours, about the excess rings that us avid FOTM runners have accumulated. Another idea would be to salvage them into ascended crafting mats (vials, globs, and shards of mist essence).
I also like the idea of trading them in for at least 1-5 pristine fractal relics, whether there’s an actual vendor who does this, or it’s a mystic forge recipe doesn’t matter too much.

If Anet thought that way why would they make Dailies? Anyway…
Yes Fractal weapons should be some how grind able, since they are bound.
Would be nice to use the relics again…
As for the rings, being able to salvage them, yes.
Opening trade on fractal weapons and rings would not be so useful.
Laurels with more ways to earn them. Or make the new neck obtainable by another way, a grinding way perhaps.

I would like to see ascended rings salvageable for a chance for ecto (same rate as rare/exotic) and a chance for mist essence
those mist essences don’t drop very often for me

It actually closes the discussion perfectly. You are a minority. There’s other issues at hand that actually impact most of the playerbase instead of just you.

I would also like to see some way to use the surplus. It seems a terrible waste to sell them to a merchant. I don’t think they should necessarily be able to be sold on the TP – though there have been times I had wished dearly that I could give them to friends.

I think it would also be wonderful if we had a more reliable way of obtaining Fractal weapon skins, even if it were a Mystic Forge recipe.

This seems to be the most recent thread on the subject, so I’ll bump this one.
It’s a shame that there is absolutely no use for undesired ascended rings at this moment. I do not mind the fact that you have to buy the rings you want with pristine relics when RNG does not favour you. However, in the process of acquiring those relics, you do get quite a few rings that do not fit your build/play style.

Possible options:
1) Make them salvageable for 0…7 ecto and 2..3 globs of mist essence (similar to other items which can be salvaged into ecto + basic material)
2) Mystic Forge recipe to forge 3 ascended rings and 1 exotic ring into the ascended equivalent of the exotic ring stats (if available). Offensive or defensive slot is randomly assigned.
3) Mystic forge recipe to forge 4 ascended rings into 5…10 pristine relics.
4) All of the above!

All in all, it would be nice to have some use out of these excess rings.
