Since Ascended rings don’t salvage into ecto… I think they should probably salvage into Vials/Globs/Shards of Mists Essence instead. I mean, they’re required to make any type of Ascended gear currently. (back piece or ring) So it only makes sense that they’d salvage into that.

I also think rings and Mists Essence should have the account bound restriction removed so that we can buy and sell them on the TP.

This would solve the complaint that Ascended gear is limited to Fractals.

I’d rather them salvage into those tokens you use to buy rings to at least turn the crappy ones into some progression towards the desirable rings.

If they did that, the drop rate would have to be significantly reduced to maintain the time-sink that Ascended Gear are suppose to pose between Exotics and Legendaries.

Would that be preferable?

They don’t want Ascended Gear to be easier to obtain, but I can see them making it so the undesirable trinkets you get do not go to waste.

And don’t bother telling me they wouldn’t have to reduce the drop rate. I’m basing my statement on ANet’s game-design logic.
