So I know it has been mentioned that they “plan” on adding ascended items to WvW…however it seems like that is off in the distance at least for now.

I was wondering if an easier temporary solution would be to just figure out some conversion factor to transform badges into fractal tokens. Then those of us who play WvW and don’t care about dungeons can still have access to ascended gear (You get the ascended gear from collecting tokens right? I’ve never done a single fractal so I don’t know).

I have no idea what the conversion would be, since I"ve never done the fractals…but I figure that wouldn’t be to hard to put into the game, and would allow those of us who don’t want to grind dungeons to still be able to get what ascended gear is available right now, so that when more is added we dont’ feel so far behind.

No, you cannot purchase ascended gear with fractal tokens. You use them to buy Gift of Ascension, which is used for crafting and infusing ascended back slot items in the mystic forge.
Note, to craft these items, you require a Vial of Condensed Mist Essence, which so far only drops in fractals.
Ascended rings, which are the only other ascended items currently available, drop from the daily chest in fractals difficulty 10 or higher.
