Ascended materials - possible solution
Yes I agree and the dust should stack to 999 because it’s filling my storage up.
Yeah, I’m with you. I’m not likely to need it any time soon, but I’m afraid ANet’s going to come up with a witty solution (to the dust, not ascended gear), so I don’t just want to toss it.
No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind.
Buy the ticket, take the ride.
The only ones complaining about the dust piling up are the champ train farmers. Time to find something else to do for a while?
why would you complain about something as “way too easy to get” when for a lot of people those dusts aren’t always easy to get (since they don’t farm as much as you do)?
Fyi, making those bricks helped people reach the 500 faster so people need as many dusts as they could especially if they are to level all three crafting professions. Like Tom said, stop grinding Champs if you get more dusts than you know what to do with them. </3
Most people have a massive stock of Bloodstone Dust because they knew that it was in Champion bags, so they saved them for when the update hit. Now, instead of slowly gathering the 500 Bloodstone dust you need for an ascended weapon, you instead have thousands more than you will ever need all at once. Other people got them because killing champions is all they know how to do in the game anymore. They don’t care for Jumping Puzzles or World Bosses, Dungeons or WvW.
oh, and 2250 piles of bloodstone dust will turn into 22 Bloodstone bricks, enough for only 4 ascended weapons (and I am guessing 4 ascended armor pieces), and that is 8.8% of the storage capacity of Bloodstone Bricks in your bank.
Griffon, you should probably level yourself in crafting so you can start refining that bloodstone dust, because you are barely 2/3’s of the way there if you were planning to make a full set of ascended armor in a few months, and you are going to need alot more. You will also need 3000 Dragonite Ores, and 3000 Empyreal Fragments, as well as 180 Obsidian Shards….might want to get to work on doing something other than the endless Champion Treadmill,…..its not healthy dude!
The funny thing is that I am on no such treadmill. I WvW and do the scarlet events when they happen, which for me is around once a day. The fact that you think im on some sort of serious grind is laughable at best. They really are too easy to obtain.
I am not worried about ascended armor right now, just the weapons as that is currently what is in the game. I didn’t stockpile champion bags or do anything crazy, I started playing in wvw and did scarlet events and I already have half my bank full with bloodstone. I play maybe 2-3 hours a day.
I already said that I was more worried about dragonite ore, as that seems to be the kittene to get currently, and proposed a different method to achieve them, but instead you call me a no life champion grinder, not understanding what my post was saying. Please get back on topic and try not to troll.
Well, even the champ train gets boring but not as boring as dealing with puppy holes in dungeons. Got tired of kittens. I did all the dungeons I will ever do in WoW and came here because it was to be an open dynamic spontaneous world. What a laugh, we get dungeon instances with legendary weapons and most everything good tied to them too. All I really want is an alternate way to achieve for most items. Just as hard a way but an alternative. If you don’t want to do dungeons there should be big real world events that give the same currencies. Or at least some kind of currency exchange. Too much of A trade it for C.
Most of the new crafting materials are pretty attainable. I would say the dust is the easiest. Maybe in the Scarlet invasions if you win you could get a big sack of ore and fragments. Kill two birds with one stone. Give a good way to get the mats and help stop people from just farming the events. I kind of liked winning.
I been doing the Jumping puzzles and there are some farmable chests that have the Fragments. Also the Big events like Claw and Shadow Behemoth have Ore. But I got to say, that doing the same jumping puzzles over and over is a bit like, let me see, oh yeah, FARMING. BORING!
Be sure to do the Jumping puzzles with a level 80 as a lower level will not get the fragments. I don’t know if a lower level will get the ore and dust or not.

Dragonite Ore you say? You get 30 per temple event and a bit less per world boss event. gw2stuff.com and you will have 500 Dragonite in a few days.
And if the dust is really piling up, level your crafting to 450 and refine them. They are not time gated and you can squeeze them 100 to one with the recipe.
You’re welcome.

You play 2-3 hours daily.
Even if you opened every Champion bag, and you got the maximum amount of bloodstone dust (15), you would still have to kill a minimum of 150 Champions to get enough bags for the amount of dust that you stated (2250). Since the number is actually somewhere between 5 and 15, its more realistic to say that you have to have killed atleast 200 champions.
Its been 10 days since release, so you would have to kill 20 champions a day to reach the number you stated. If you play for 2-3 hours a day (lets say 2.5), you would have to kill an average of 8 champions an hour, or one champion every 7 minutes and 30 seconds.
I’m not being a Troll. I am being a Realist. And I think that everything you have said so far is either not true, or is leaving out some very important imformation, because killing a Champion every 7.5 minutes is just not possible during regular game play unless you are purposly going after Champions and pretty much only Champions. I am not calling you a troll, but I also don’t think you are being entirely truthful with us.
Its definitely possible to get 11~20~30 champion bags (average of 20) during Scarlet’s invasions, which means that you were doing atleast one a day, and not only that, you were following the Zerg around in hopes of killing Champions, otherwise, you might be lucky to see 10.
3 hours a day is some of the longer dungeons, and it is not possible to get 20 champion bags from one of those dungeons. It is possible in WvW if you captured a Tower or Keep every 7.5 minute, but that makes me wonder because you would also lose those same keeps every 7.5 minutes, which is kind of fast, even on the most lopsided matchups.
In 10 days, In addition to the 600 or so Bloodstone dust I got from champion bags I saved up, I got about another 400 or so, and I play for alot longer than 2-3 hours a day, but I also wasn’t looking for them either, but I certainly was not avoiding Champions just because I didn’t need the dust (I would have to open a minimum of 27 bags). As far as Dragonite Ore and Empyreal shards, I can get about 100 a day, and that’s normally in the first 2-3 hours or so of my game time per day, since all the chests are kind of once per day.
You guys who are saying “stop acquiring so much Bloodstone Dust” are missing the point. The problem is not acquiring too much, the problem is not having anywhere to store it. The account wallet has already proven that any item ANet wants to have infinite space can have infinite space. We had to store Badges of Honor and dungeon tokens before, now we don’t. It’s called progress. All of the account bound crafting materials which cannot be traded (either in current form or their future crafted items) should have infinite storage. It’s impossible for infinite storage of Bloodstone Dust to hurt the economy when none of its end products can be traded.
we’ve all seen what happens in games where there’s no disadvantage to taking your pants off.
Well that’s not what he suggested, now is it?
