Asura Gates need their names on the Mini-Map
I constantly forget all were Divenity reaches asura gate is in lion’s arch although they do have the race standing close to each one so you have to look for the npc’s but they should be named.
Sounds like a reasonable feature request. +1
Anyone else think its a good idea?
AGREED!! 100% PLEASE!! At least a mouseover tooltip showing where the gate takes you on the map and minimap. I have done this numerous times, running to the wrong gate only to see its the wrong one lol and then have to run all the way to the correct one.
Agreed! That would be a very nice little addition.
Massive agreement. Asura gates need to be marked with their destination on the map. The game obviously already has names for the gates, that you can see as you walk up close to the gate, so why not put those same things on the map where they’d be very useful in saving you from running around?

Totally agreed! And not just on a map. Why can’t there be a sign by each gate (in Asuran script for those who want immersion) that you could mouse over and get the destination? Instead, you have to run up to each gate to figure out which one it is. And its so annoying!
I dont mind the ones in divinitys reach or the ones in lions arch not having the proper tooltip.. but the asura gates in rata sum are terrible, the horror!

Im signing this one!
And while your at it- it would be great, if we could read destination upon mouseovering the gate
Well I just tried to navigate Rata Sum for the first time and WOW its terrible trying to find my way around. With so many areas only accessible through Asuran Gates it becomes really confusing trying to figure out which one goes where.
It’s not too horrible, and after time, you get used to it. However, if it’s just as simple as putting the destination name on the mini/overworld maps, like they did for map completion per zone, then I say might as well. It doesn’t hurt, only helps
Players have been asking for this since beta and I agree it is a simple, quality of life, addition. Though perhaps it is meant to give us insight into the asuran mind.
They’re special! They got aspirations.”

What helps is knowing that: The Sylvari one is the Highest (tree – tall… ). And the Asura one is the smallest
So much this. I hate finding my way out of Rata Sum because I rarely go there and always forget which gate gets me to Metrica and which gets me to Lion’s Arch and which gets me to some place I’d just walk to if the Asura didn’t believe in complexity for complexity’s sake.
But here’s my body – So rez me maybe?
I endorse this product and/or service.
This would be a welcome addition.

So people have been complaining since Beta and they haven’t made this simple update? Well that’s worrying.
Yes, labels on the gates that can be read from farther than arms-length distance would be a distinct improvement, even though I am FAIRLY familiar with them. Also: when I am zoning in, it would really be nice if the little tag during zone-in not only had the zone name but the levels one can expect to find there: Gendarran Fields 25 – 35 for example. I know when I first started, I ran out from Hoelbrak and got yelled at that a particular zone was too dangerous, but still, it would have been nice to see the level range so I had an idea where I would want to go later.
