Guild Wars 2

Much as I hate to say it, this is one thing Blizzard did right. I want access to a number generator that will authenticate my account for me when I log in. Give me this through an app on Android/iOS or perhaps as a calculator type application that can only be used with the mouse and where the numbers randomly move each time it pops up in the splash screen as I am logging in.

I have a buddy who keeps having issues with a hacker. He is using a unique password and username for this game, but he keeps getting accessed somehow. I see more Gold Sellers spamming their crud every day and I hate to say it, but I’m getting a little paranoid here. I want an option that will add a much needed layer of security to my account login.

I would pay for a token for the extra security if one were offered.

A “gold lock” type feature akin to Rift would be nice. Where if someone accesses your account from a different IP they can’t chat, use mail, buy or sell anything, delete characters, etc. without an authentication code sent to your e-mail address.

ArenaNet could even use the Google Authenticator. I obviously use it for my Google accounts, but also Dropbox. It works as a time or counter based authenticator.

Something like steam’s security where you get sent an e-mail with a code to “unlock” a new IP would be enough.

I would love a blizzard type authenticator, for me 10$ is a small price to pay for that extra level of security!
And for those that may not have the extra money the droid etc app one should also be made available?

There is already such a feature, whenever you try and log-in from an unknown IP address it will sent you an email and you have to click on the included link to authorize the log-in attempt before the client allows the log-in.

That said, I would pay for a GW2 dragon logo style authenticator.
