Auto-Sort or Auto-Stack!
I’m confused by what you’re asking… If you want to get/craft bags that sort items you get as you get them – some exist already.
And I was certain that like items already stacked in your inventory when you pick them up.
If you’re tired of seeing gaps between your stuff when you look at your inventory after going to a vendor, you could click the cog wheel in the top right corner of your inventory screen and choose to ‘compact’ your list so the spaces are all at the bottom.
If none of that helps can you please elaborate what it is you’re suggesting?
When you add stuff to the bank, it does not stack with the same item. IE Adding leather to you bank does not stack with leather of the same kid that is already in the bank.
Are you click and dragging it to the pane, because last I tried you could double click and it would auto-stack it with like items. Perhaps I’m mistaken but I coulda sworn I double clicked a locked black lion chest and it added it to my stack already in the bank…
There seriously needs to be an auto-sort or stack function. It would make life easier.
There are bags that do this automagically.
Here’s my setup on my main.
regular starter backpack, karka bag (event), 15 slot gear box, 15 slot invis bag, 15 slot crafters bag.
That pretty much sums it up. They are available in all sizes and the mats for the smaller ones (like lower levels) aren’t expensive or hard to find. I did also at one point have a oiled bag for greys but decided 5 slots was more important.
Oh and there is a compact command in the bag window on the gear cog interface.

I agree completely with the OP. Yes there are bags that do this for your inventory, but this is not what they are referring to. Once you have reached 250 stacks in your materials and your bags begin to fill up you naturally go to put the mats in the bank.
Well when you double click the mat in your inventory, it moves to the first open space in your bank. It does not stack with like items already in the bank. Granted there are more important bug fixes to knock out but this is a very basic feature that should have not been overlooked
I noticed this functionality is not included, it is rather basic and should not have been overlooked. I do not like having to stack the stuff myself, I’d rather just double click an item and have it stack in my bank.
I agree. I’m still very surprised that things don’t stack automatically when you double click / drop items into your bank. I can’t think of a modern MMO that doesn’t have something like this, or allow mods that take care of it.
This is one feature I’m really behind, been waiting for it since release. I’ve tried to organize my bank multiple times but out of a lack of space/time it always ends up getting jumbled again. Besides needing to constantly move items around and dig through the bank tabs, we (at least this is how I do it) need to haphazardly search for items and combine rogue stacks in hope of clearing up more space. Needing to constantly bother with my bank to make it usable is pretty crazy.
Please Anet, this feature would save so much time! I love the search feature, but that alone barely makes up for items not stacking into each other and some kind of sorting function.
