Automatic "hot spot" notification?

It strikes me that this game would be a lot more fun if I could tell from the map which areas of the map had a lot going on. This means that the events will be well populated and you can usually enjoy yourself. Being unable to find these hot spots is often frustrating and annoying. It helps if one or more players have Commander icons, because if they do then there’s a solid chance that “action” will be happening at their location, but these guys are not always around.

So my suggestion is to have a “hot spot” indicator where serious action is going on, the “red dot with a ring of red dots” icon that is used in other situations (such as Southsun Survival) would be perfect for this task.

Make it so that if you look at the big map for a zone, and the zone has, say, 50+ people in it, then anywhere 20+ players are within 5000 units or so of each other, leave a blinky red circle on the map. If the population is lower, if there are only 25 or so people in the zone, then maybe show indicators for groups as small kitten . If there are only ten people, leave an indicator for any groups of two or more. This would allow players to more easily congregate with other players, making the content more accessible in general.

The locations of these pings would only need to be updated on thirty second or longer intervals if that would help.

you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”
