I have been thinking about posting my ideas about these skills, which I created around half year ago, for a very long time and I finally decided that I will try and post it in Suggestion Sub-Forum and in Guardian Forum and maybe some of the Guild Wars 2 creators will read it, and hopefully, when they finally start unlocking/adding new weapons to existing classes they will make axes usable by guardians and maybe use some of my ideas. These skills are designed for axe main hand that would give guardians some acces to crowd controll abilities and decent melee damage, axe attacks would not be as fast as sword’s but would be faster than hammer’s.
Here are my ideas for AXE skills for GUARDIAN’S Main Hand Weapon:
SKILL 1:
Faithful Strike: Cast time: 1/2 second
-Stike your foe
Righteous Strike: Cast time: 1/2 second
-Strike your foe again
Crushing Swing: Cast time: 3/4 second, Vulnerability(4s)
-Damage all enemies around you applying vulnerability.
Visual Description: All 3-chain attacks can be done when moving, first two attacks with normal animations, third attck: swing your axe around you damaging enemies around you.
SKILL 2:
Crippiling Wave: Cooldown: 5 seconds, Range: 500, Cast time: 1 second, Cripple(5s)
-Send a wave infront of you that cripples and damages any enemy struck by it.
Visual Description: For 1 second gathering energy in your hand and axe while holding your axe up, and then striking the ground sending a crippling wave infront of you or
to your target’s location.
SKILL 3:
Holy Strike: Cooldown: 15 seconds, Range: 250 Cast time: 3/4 second, Knockdown(2s), Combo Finisher: Leap
-Short range leap attack that knockdowns an enemy dealing huge damage.
Visual Description: Short range jump up and forward or at your enemy holding your axe up and then delivering a mighty blow knocking your foe down.
Traits could be:
1) Glacial Heart: now works with both hammers and axes
2) Axe Mastery Trait or Axe of Faith or Unstopable Axe: Reduces Cooldown of Axe Skills by 20%
Special effects using the legendary axe Frostfang:
(I would really love to use Frostfang with my guardian)
Skill 1: First two basic attacks could look like normal Frostfang’s attack animations, third attack, when you swing your axe around you could look like your enemies are struck by a Frostfang’s dragon head.
Skill 2: Animation could remain unchanged or instead, it could be some icy, fitting the Frostfang’s design animation.
Skill 3: When you leap at your foe and strike him/her/it, your enemy is hit by a big Frostfang’s dragon head.
I would really like my guardian to fight with axe, so please creators of Guild Wars 2, ArenaNet, please think about my ideas, improve them, balance them and add them to our awesome Guild Wars 2 so I can craft and then fight using my favorite legendary weapon Frostfang
