Alright, I’m wondering if anyone, or a red could answer me.

Why do you have to spend an insane amount of gems to unlock more banking space? I think its very impeding to many players, since you have to pay about $8 for an extra slot, or with this in-game economy, an extreme amount of gold. Even in the actual out-of-game world economy, everyone is suffering hard, and the amount of your average persons disposable income is decreasing rapidly. For your average player, not that many people could afford getting an extra slot. If you probably made a Bell Curve showing the standard amount of money people have, and where the exact amount it costs to get 1 new bank tab, I’m willing to bet thakittens a luxury & in the higher percentile.
So, the point? I’m wondering if there’s any plans for what you can do to make bank tabs more achievable. Why not make a very hard achievement/quest have a reward that unlocks a new bank tab? You might say some people have all bank tabs, so that would mean that they wouldn’t have to do that achievement/quest.
I’m think it’s silly seeing all my friends & random people on youtube making their own personal guild so they accrue influence and get their own guild bank that they use personally. Is it a good idea? Of course! Your own extra 50 slots for less than 4 gold or personal time! Does it help the system of the game? Nope! Now you’ve created an instance where a bunch of people aren’t interacting with each other just so they can have their own Guild Bank.

I really feel like someone should look at this idea and come up with a solution for more bank space that benefits the whole. Thanks!

Actually disposable income in the US has been fairly steady the last 7 months after a 4% drop in January. So I wouldn’t say it is decreasing rapidly. It’s about on par with 2012. Skip a couple of trips to the drive-thru or a movie or something. $8 isn’t that much but round it up to $10 since that is the minimum amount to buy gems. Remember that Anet is a business and making money is part of the plan even if the money goes to NCSoft first.

As far as personal guild bank, I don’t see how that causes people not to interact. Make the guild bank, deposit whatever, then go back and rep the guild or guilds you have been hanging out with. A personal guild bank isn’t going to cause someone from spending time in their normal guild or guilds since players can be in up to 5 guilds.
