I’m sure most of you know the large amount of time it takes to get the correct amount of dungeon tokens for what ever dungeon armour set you’ve had your eyes on for ages. And the other day i wasn’t even thinking when i finally got to get my armour set and hurriedly chose the wrong armour type (Stupid i know)

Thought it would be reasonable to suggest that we’re able to refund the armour for the tokens we used? I don’t see how it could be exploited or used in the wrong?

So hopefully Anet could bring it in? So when we have these rare bad brain farts it could be rectified

That would be great because I just did the same thing today.

I think its a must for that kind of game in which you spend hours and hours just to get some items. Because, if you make a mistake, you don’t lose everything. The game should not let you buy “soulbound on buying” items that is not of the right type for the char you’re buying it with in the first place.

The funny part right now is that you can’t preview an item of the wrong type, but you can buy it : ) .

The refund system should be limited “time wise” on recently bought items.

The browser already makes you confirm your purchase. It’s hardly ANet’s fault that you’re impatient and make mistakes.

I don’t know if it is wrong or an exploit, but being able to get a full refund would allow people to swap their armor for a set with different stats whenever they respec. I’d imagine the devs would prefer people run the dungeon for those extra sets instead.

There is a confirmation window when making purchases for a reason, to prevent people from misclicking. If they make a second mistake by confirming their first one was correct when it wasn’t, there is not much more the devs can do. Adding a second or fifth confirmation for everything is not a viable solution as the people that hastily confirm their mistakes without making sure the first time will likely do so again and again while everyone else will just be annoyed by the extra unnecessary clicks.

perhaps a confirmation showing the stats of the armour you selected and asks if these are what you want? This could help a tiny bit I guess.

Use your brain. This hasn’t happened to me, and won’t happen to me. Before clicking, double check what you’re about to do:
1/ what stats do I want?
2/ what armor type can I wear?
3/ does this item have the stats and gear I need?
==> buy it
4/ at confirmation, repeat 1 to 3
==> confirm

I’m not saying careless people should be poor. I’m just saying remove all the confirmation pop ups and red texts and let the problem solve itself.

Well, by saying that its not ANet’s fault is not quite true. Sure, they don’t make people buy a particular item but they don’t prevent it either. The way it is right now, even help people make mistakes and there’s no way (from an answer that a GM sent me) that ANet can help. Like if they had no toll’s to do so. There would be no game if they had no tool’s to built it… anyway, lets go back to the topic : ) .

First.. Like I said in a previous post, they are preventing the people from previewing other type of items that a char cant use (like if it was something wrong) but they let them buy it (Like if it was “ok”). Where’s the logic in that?

Second… Why two different type of armors pieces, of the same gear slot, have the same name tag?

Let me tell you what happened to me… I went to the dungeons tokens merchants in LA with my warrior. At that time, I decided that I would work on both, stats and look of the armor, knowing that I would have to do the work twice so I can transmute the look to the stats later on. I went from merchant to merchant, trying every single pieces of exotic armor they have, to find the look I wanted, writing down the names of each gear piece. Then, I went on a tokens hunt for my chest piece (which took me a long time). When I finally got the 330 tokens needed for it, I went back to the token merchant selling it in LA. I looked at the notes I took from the start and saw, Inquest Breastplate. I then opened the merchant menu, looking for that Inquest Breastplate, found it, bought it. Then I opened my gear menu to equip it but I could not see it there. So, I opened the inventory menu and saw that it was there, moused over and then I saw that it was not of the right type for my char. At that point I was asking myself, how I managed to do that? So, I rechecked my notes, reopened the merchant menu and realized that there was two different type of armors pieces of the same gear slot having the exact same name tags. That’s, helping people make mistakes. If you don’t want to have all different names just had Heavy, Medium or Light in the name tag, (ex.: Heavy Inquest Breastplate or Medium Inquest Breastplate) that would help alot.

In that case, a confirmation window is not good. When I bought the Inquest Breastplate of the wrong type, I was 100% sure that it was of the right type for my char. It’s not a mistake, I simply did not know about the duplicate name tags at that time.

So is it my entirely my fault… I don’t think so.

I don’t think a game should let a person waste hours and hours of gameplay to make him/her learn something like that. That’s something ANet need to work on or at least help people with, when they are experiencing that kind of problem, instead of turning their back on them.

edited : Btw there’s no confirmation box. I tried both way “double left clicking and one click and pressing buy button” and I got no confirmation box on either way. Don’t know where you guys got that. There’s a box when you try to disenchant items of green and over quality but not on buying.

I would welcome the option to be refunded say 50-75% of the tokens for an armor/weapon piece.

I`m now back to the game after 4 months and I`d rather setup my toon differently. And since I`m not rich and my play time is still around 1-2 hours every 1-2 days, I don`t have tome to invest in farming dungeons / gold.
