My friend and I were discussing the possibility of player birthday gifts on their birthdays, now we had two different views on this and I will post both.

His suggestion:

• He suggested that on each players birthday’s they get some sort of gift, since arena net gets our info when creating an account. Something like a Random booster pack and maybe a non rare mini pet, or an armor or weapon skin, something not resalable so the player can not profit from it.

Now the issue I have with this, and I may be way of base here, is that Arena net would have to apply a lot of man power and resources to putting this into implementation to have the game recognize and send out gifts for each individual players birthday. I could be wrong not really sure but it would seem that it would take a lot to put this into action, the after thought of this would be standard once it was put into effect.

My suggestion:

• Instead of each individual players actual birthday make it so, players receive a gift on the anniversary of the day they made their first character. The gift would be the same Random booster pack and maybe a Non rare Mini pet or armor skin or weapon skin.

Now this idea still requires some man power but I perceive it more simplistic to apply as you can mass group people together easier than individual.

So that is my suggestion, I just see this as a way for Arena Net to say thank you for choosing our game and playing the game with us. I also know and one of the reasons why I enjoy NCSoft and Arena Net games is because the company in it self tends to listen and respect the players more so than other franchises out there. Maybe I am out of line asking for this or maybe I am not so give me a +1 if you agree leave a comment and happy gaming.

I would imagine if they did it all they would do the same as you are suggesting, not your friend. That’s how they did it in GW1 (anniversary gift on the characters birthday)

I would love to see this implemented onto GW2 but we have a problem here….we wont know until the game is atleast a year old! Exactly, this is why I posted it so Arena Net can see that players enjoyed that aspect of the appreciation from them in GW1 and hopefully even though it is still 8 months off or so they can see that people would like this.

I remember I got a Black dye my second year of playing from Arena Net and I was super excited for it ( as that was the dye everyone wanted and was expensive)

Black is not the most expensive any more, as there are plenty of dyes more so expensive ( at least on my server) than black. Like Abyss ( which is a black yes ) Celestial white ect ect

I always consider Abyss to be black as it is Jet black with a different name (When I looked a couple of weeks ago it was 19g)

Trading post is global, not server restricted – all servers (EU & US) use the same TP.

Yeah I did too Abyss is black dye lol, but like I said I was just making this thread to show Arena Net that players do remember the things they did in GW1 and there are things that would be cool for them to keep around.

I STILL log into GW1 to open my presents in May, June, August, November & January. Haven’t actually played the game since shortly after EotN came out, but I still open my presents lol

If they did this, they should add what day we made our character under the info on character select. I can’t remember when I made any of my characters, none of them from August remain lol

/age will tell you how old your character is.

i’m pretty sure this is already implemented/planned
why should they stop such a great tradition?

They could just mail an item to you. lol

It doesn’t matter if it is a minute/ hour/ day/ weeks count the program that would notice and respond to it would be able to calculate the proper day

I mean
365 days = 1 year
8760 hours = 1 year
525,600 minutes = 1 year
31,536,000 seconds = 1 year
I could be off by a few here and there but that is the jist of it, if my math is incorrect sorry I did it off the top of my head
