A common knowledge: You want contribute to a team in big event with ONE super tough mob (Shatterer and many champion mob events come to mind) go power/crit build or go home.

Another problem: items and structures like weapon racks, boxes, cannons and such are immune to condition damage altogether.

Most bleed-based condition builds can stack 12-15 stacks of bleed by themselves (with a spike to 25 cap sometimes)

Most burning-based damage builds can have their target perma burned

So if you have say condition necro and 1h-sword warrior near each other they are basically kittening themselves by hitting the same mob.

If you add short bow ranger to them it will be even worse.

In general condition damage is balanced around the assumption that nobody else is hitting your mob.

So basically the game that should encourage cooperation is FORCING condition-based players to AVOID playing together with other players.

My thoughts about this situation:
1) If we can’t increase bleed stacks past 25 of burn/poison past 60 sec duration let the game convert dot portion of an attack to a pure damage if the said attack cannot apply the dot part (in a certain proportion maybe)
2) If the target is completely immune to condition damage (weapon rack for example) convert condition damage to pure damage(again in a certain proportion maybe)

So in a fight with say Shatterer if there is already a 25 stacks of bleed on a dragon and some necro hit him with a scepter 1 he will do the basic direct damage as usual and say 50% of the lost bleed damage as a direct damage bonus.

There are many events designed around the destruction of some siege engines (orrian anti air cannons for example) that can also benefit from this simple solution.
Maybe there can also be some traits/sigils that could improve the conversion rates of lost condition damage to pure damage.

Hmm. Would have to see it in action, but it’d be nice to have. My bleeding warrior has a hard time doing demolition, that I know.

Another, though more involved solution, would be to allow the “rupturing” of bleeds and the intensity stacking of burn/poison – the latter would, say, if you hit more than Xs of burn/poison on a target, it starts dealing more damage (not double, but more) but its duration is cut in half.

As for the ruptures, I mean something that makes some attacks cause some/all bleed stacks on the target to end immediately, dealing their remaining damage in one lump sum. But that’s another nightmare to balance.
