I’m thinking about goldsellers chat spamm here, you can block that particular character spamming, but it just delays the inevitable: delete said character, make a new one, spam, rinse and repeat.
While you at Arena Net think about a solution to this problem it would be nice to have the option to block the whole account, an opposite version of adding a friend, just by clicking on the name displayed by chat window.

I’ll second this. Adding friends is by account, ignoring people should be, too.
