It sadddens me daily to see that Bots are invading all the maps. Especially when I know that those leechers use mostly stolen accounts. Accounts from people who payed for this game and cannot play it. People who spend time lvl-ing their toons, and who where potential companions to play along with us in various events, or dungeons. And are now furstraded, wondering and searching how to get their account back. Besides for those who still play’s the game they are ruining the ingame economy. Yesterday in one map we counted 86 bots in different places, farming whole area’s so we hardly could do our quests. Mostly they where acompanied by a high lvl, who even was in a guild, with a similar looking account name as the bots did. He didnt respond to pm’s and I wonder, was he farming for his guild (Team Dynamic)? I have screenshots.
I know botters dont care about that, and if they ruin the game they simply move on to another mmo, who will be simply another potential source of income. I played GW1 for over 5 years, and I hope I can do the same with GW2. To me an mmo is more than lvl-ing, farming or be the best, Its more the reward of the acomplishement to have done special things together with others. To share the fun.
I dont know how Anet handles this problem, and I also know that the sollution isnt that simple. But I hope they track down their transactions and punish those people who buy from them. Or use bots for their own leeching purpose Because once it is too hard, and not rewarding enough to keep their pc’s running they wil leave. If I am able to do something to help people who have been hacked or has been robbed in any way, i would be pleased to do so, so let me know. I even willing to post screenshots of everthing we encounter on regular bases, if I knew it would makes things easier.
