I honestly don’t get how ArenaNet thinks they are going to combat botting, when they only do sweeps around once per week…..2 times at most.

Can’t they understand that the motivation is money, and if the bot can run freely for a week or more (after it has already levelled to 80), after it has been reported in-game, then they are making money, and the behaviour will go on and on and on…..

The player base is stated to get so apathetic about bots…and for good reason.

There will NEVER be an automated solution to bots. Blizzard has had that approach for years, and has failed miserably.

It’s so easy to see that Anet has to respond to reports submitted by players on a daily basis in order to hit the botters where it really counts…in the pocketbook! And hit them as hard and fast as possible.

HOnestly, what is the difference in manpower when you do it once per week, as opposed to dividing the work evenly throughout the week to have a greater impact.

I’m often in Frostgorge Sound on Maguuma, and it is pitiful to see bots that I reported a week ago still running freely through the canyon area in large numbers.

If I was in charge, I would see it as a war against bots, and one that needs to be won in order to keep players on your side in the effort to keep the game environment as one that is appealing to players…human ones…

It leaves a bad feeling when I’m farming somewhere and a whole slew of bots come in and kill everything in sight.

Wake up Anet. The game is going to hell in a handbasket, with your slack efforts on enforcement. You are prolonging a battle that could likely have been won long ago….or at least reduced to a very minimum.

Educate and enforce…rather than play the PR game that everyone and their mother can see through.

Its a pain to see bots in this game among all the MMO’s I’ve played in the past in sorrow’s furnace I see bots in almost every map I do report them of course but aside from patrolling a certain area or getting mixed up with a bot called asdsa and dsad lol that have the exact same colors they are still there oh but no only that one person I see at a particular popular place for zerging multiple events tends to bot his character using a bow like all bots do and he spams certain skills over and over i guess to show that hes not a bot or something.

Anyway back to the topic, in one MMO they had a way of fooling the bot with the typical capcha thing where you buy an item click on a certain character and try the item on them if they can’t type in the capcha letters then they get kicked from the game for i think 30 minutes. Not sure if that will fix it but its a start at least I guess GM’s and such are busy there is probably a lot of bugs/issues players come across and it would help if we the players could help them out at least, though in the other game i played with this item (was named a bot bomb btw) bots managed to overcome the capcha message someone though never found out how which was a real pain.

Well I hope that gives them some sort of idea on what to do with the bot problem I mean if there was a sorta incentive to bot bombing an amount (say a daily or something) I guess we could see less bots for at least a little while.

Another way would be to block Chinese IP’s if that’s possible since I’ve been its just related to china’s IPs and such. Not saying its the best approach but hey if it helps I guess its worth a shot, and maybe making a Chinese only server perhaps to stop actually players from China being cut off from the game but I guess when you think about it they may consider it racial for one country to be cut off lol.

So in the end I think that I type too much lol and that bot bombing with an incentive would be a good idea to stop the bots at least a start.

That is really annoying I honestly wish they could just have some sort of way for getting rid of bots I would have thought that because they made an MMO they would have a way around it,1 But I guess that’s just how I think.

Also, stop buying kittening gold and the botters will go away. Seriously.

I don’t buy gold never did never would I don’t care that I’m broke (compared to some I guess) gambling 1g or 2g on unidentified dyes is how I gamble my bank up and down lol oh and making stuff
