Pink Day in LA is still going this year as it has in GW1

Server Achievement for 80% of the population being dye’d in Pink :-)

I’d also suggest people changing their guild emblems pink for the day (October 19th) or month.

Buy pink dyes. My boyfriend always dyes his character’s pants for breast cancer awareness. Some notice and it’s the small things right?

Why Breast Cancer?

Why not just call it Cancer awareness month? Is Breast any more special than any other cancer?

No it it isn’t, of course and I would certainly support you men by dying my character’s clothing for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, too.

Serious, when I log into the game, then I want to have fun and relax from real life, not wanting to see anything that is related to it and not getting confronted every X days/weeks/months with any kind of social empathy day stuff for any kind of abnormalities in real life or any kind of sicknesses people have in real life…

Keep such things please out of this game. Its the same thing like keeping all kinds of religious things out of this game.
Games should stay NEUTRAL and not get any kind of real life influences that have nothing to search in the game, regardless of which reason, be the reason for something good like showing empathy for breast cancer victims, Aids victims or what the hell else, or not.

When anet starts such stuff, then people will start complaining… hey you did last month a breast cancer day. Why don’t we get now an anonymous alcoholic month? And next months it will be the said Aids awareness month, then comes next the lesbian/gay day and so on …

No, just no, keep this game clean from real life problems.
A game should always stay a neutral game, free from everything that is real life related.
When logging into the game, people want to relax and not get confronted with real life problems.

Please don’t get me wrong – and I know these words above there may sound rude, but be 100% sure, thats never my intention here, I respect people who make social work for these kind of ill people and I’m very sorry for everyone, who has such a kind of illness and wish these people all good things ect.

But I just personally think these things simply don’t belong into this game.
Social work in the forums here is absolutely ok.
Please keep such things out of the game.
I hope people can understand me and my view about that kind of topic here, without being personally offended now in any kind of way.

But I would happily wear a pink ribbon back piece ingame aswell (although my gf painted my nails pink today, I feel FABULOUS in the office)

I think the idea behind this might be more about raising awareness about prevention through BSEs (breast self-exam). In BSEs you try to “feel” for anything unusual, “new”, like hard or squishy tissue that wasn’t there last month.
