I would like to have the feature back to preview any armor on any class of character.
Sometimes you pick up a piece of armor and you want to see how it looks, having to be on a character that can use it is simply annoying.

Also, add a preview section in trading post.

lastly, let us change dyes on armors when we are previewing.

Agreed! I don’t know why you guys removed the preview of all armor types… it was a great way to see what was available for other characters while exploring on one. =(

Edited to add, what is the point of HAVING a preview function if it isn’t functional? If the problem was that people were buying things they couldn’t use and complaining, then make it so you cannot buy karma items of other armor types.

One of the main things I use the preview function for with other armor types is when I get a drop of a different type. I liked being able to see what it looked like – without having to change characters – to see if I wanted to keep it for an alt. Now it’s just annoying.

I have no idea why they would put in such a limitation, maybe they think their player base is too dumb to realize that previewing armor doesn’t necessarily mean you can actually wear it. Sometimes I just want to see if the armor might look nice for another character of mine.

Before everyone starts dummy spitting, there have been multiple dev posts saying that this is temporary solution while they fix things up with it, such as the texture errors that would appear when viewing multiple armour types at the same time.
I’m hoping that this is a precursor to previewing items on the Trading Post, however they haven’t mentioned anything about that, just me being optimistic.

Does the old armor preview only relate to gem items? I’m driving myself crazy not being able to see what many of the armors are before I buy them from a merchant.

Despite some armors have multiple versions with completely different looks they still list them with the same name! It makes it super frustrating when you cant find an image of a rare version of an item vs exotic…. Point in case I recently purchased invaders armor (rare) only to find out it is not at all the same looking as the exotic. Now I’m looking at some divinity council armor and I don’t know if I’ll run into the same situation because I have no preview of the armor in shop and all the icons look the same (and not at all looking like the actual item.)

If anet is reading please please consider puting an item preview window when you hover over it.

I wan’t dye preview! instead of having to look up the code, post it in chat, then previewing.

As for the armor/weapons I hate when someone says “hey check out this cool skin I got [adsf]!” and I have to say “hold on let me switch to my ranger.”
