Bring GW1 districts back
Well, as the most zones are pretty much ‘dead’, I think this would be handy. This way we can go to a more populated ‘district’.
In my opinion, the concept of districts from GW1 kind of clashes with the Overflow and separate servers we have in GW2. If we try to bring such a mechanic over to GW2, it would mean giving the players the option to play on another server. So, it would be like the “Guesting” feature ArenaNet proposes but, without being invited.
I guess that would help in letting some players find more populated areas but then you would just have more problems: how do you prioritize between a local or “guesting” player? How do you make sure the lower population servers don’t just become completely deserted?
I think before we go for “districts” we should just have an option to “Go to overflow” when one is available for the area. Since the overflows are made of players from different servers and only exist when an instance on a server is filled with local players, I feel there is less risk of creating “ghost” servers this way.
