Bring back GW1 dances!
I guess my elementalist definately would present herself better in the GW1 dance than ‘shuffling’ ^^.
There is a dance instructor in one of the cities, so I imagine they are going to add more dances for us to choose from eventually. Probably just not a rush feature, hehe. I do miss my monk dance! So elegant compared to the crazy human bust-a-move dance. lol
Can’t say I liked the GW1 dances, but the GW2 dances are horrible. >_>
<— Aion cash shop dances ftw.
I’ve never played Aion (zero interest and bleck). I don’t understand why you’d hate them though.
Also I’m glad to hear that there is a dance instructor Can’t wait!

Neither the GW1 or GW2 dances has any rhythm, looks more like drowning monkeys with spasms than dancing. >_<
Male ritualist /dance and female monk /excited emote were good. Male warrior was ok.
Consider the fact that you’ve got five races, two genders each, a few skeletons per gender. Now think about making a dance animation based on class, that looks equally well done in any race / gender / skeleton. Probably not possible. So think about making individual dance animations for every race/gender/class combination. That’s 80 different dances. While it would be nice, that’s a lot of work. If you shortened it, say... used the same dance for all similarly shaped characters, Charr and Asura would be special, while everyone else would feel generic, and that’s not fair.
Don’t get me wrong, I would pay $10 for each special dance, even if they made 80, but I don’t know how many more it would take before that much work would be worth it.
So shines a good deed in a naughty world.

Dances in the gem store would definitely be a top seller. There should be:
- Racial dances: Versions of each racial dance, so you can do it with any other dance.
- Legacy dances: Versions of the GW1 profession dances, adapted to all playable GW2 races.
They could be sold either separately or in packs. Things like:
- Legacy Male Ritualist dance for charr: 200G.
- Legacy Male Ritualist dance pack: 800G.
- Charr dance for humans: 100G.
- Charr dance for all races pack: 300G.
- Legacy dances pack: 2000G.
- Racial dances pack: 1000G.
- All dances pack 2500G.
I would definitely get the thing.
I would really like to see new dances too. I was really glad to hear about the dance instructor NPC, so I can’t wait until that’s operational. Personally, I absolutely HATE the Sylvari dance. The human one is okay at best. Might be better if it weren’t tied to such an awful song.
The Asuran one is… well it’s fitting, and it’s alright, but nothing great. The norn is awful and the Charr I’ve never even seen. I really miss the variety of the first game’s dances so I’m looking forward to this dance vendor thing.
Could it maybe have optional payment methods? Gold, Gems or Karma? Or having different dances per category? I think that’d be handy.

Really? I have heard this before but have yet to come across it, which city and district? This makes me happy
ETA: I was sad that males and females of each race got the same dance, perhaps we will be able to change based on sex at least, or profession would be better, but maybe that is why we all got the same dance to begin with as we will have the option to change.
Has anyone ever played the MMO Vanguard? Now that was the most insane amount of emotes. Literaly you would type /Emotes and a mile long list would come up, everything from barf to sexy, to sneeze, talk to hand, the list goes on and on. It was a little over the top but man it was hilarious. Also like all races had 3 race specific dances and all races shared 25 shared dances, it was before its time but that was a great game. Sorry I’m rambling now.
