Buy and sell items with real money
the listing fee’s are there to help the economy, removing them would remove one of the biggest gold sinks in the game and this ruin the economy.
Also people don’t like p2win games, while you already can exchange real money to gold its at a rate that limits the amount of people that end up as clueless level 80’s who just used a credit card to get there.
Technically you can already use real world money to buy items, just purchase gems, sell them for gold, use the gold in TP.
If you mean selling things for real money, I’d rather not be an option, would make it much more attractive to farming bots and I can imagine the amount of drama that could happen about drops if it turns out you can make money from them. Also it would be a headache for Anet to figure out the different tax and income laws all over the world if people could earn money by playing.
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Please don’t encourage this. The real money auction house in Diablo 3 was a disaster. I tried it out and honestly it felt strange. Some poor kitten bought a sword from me for $8. At first I felt elated. Then I just felt sad, like I had ripped someone off. Who knows what kid with their parent’s credit card can get suckered into spending $100 on items. Plus, GW2 is all about putting in the time to get the reward. Yes, you can purchase gems and sell them for gold, but the exchange rate is not good and it keeps players from doing it because it’s easier and much cheaper to just go on a dungeon run. The major thing to avoid is a real money system between players. It changes everything, especially the tone of the game. When I see a player sporting amazing armor and a legendary, I want to assume they worked hard for it in game. Not that they paid for it. Anet has the right idea making store purchases be basically cosmetic. Let’s not encourage a money based economy. Everything’s working fine.
Would be nice. Making real money by playing a video game you like is something i always thought a good idea but never played a game that has this feature.

If you wanna do that try Diablo 3. Honestly, it’s not fun at all. It makes something that should be “play” into “work”. It also makes the game about greed, not imagination and fun.
