Guild Wars 2

It’s the same ol’ topic; expansions to GW2; not sifting in everything with LS updates… this game seriously needs expansions to both retain players and re-attract players who have left and let them return without feeling lost and there’s big holes in whatever update is active those 2 weeks.

Example; a 90+ strong guild on SFR where we are now around 10 regulars left who have had to join another guild on the server. On our guild forum though; all the members are talking about upcoming MMOs (Wildstar,ESO – as if those are the new saviours, hahaha) but more importantly they’re complaining they don’t have a game to play until these games come out in 2014…
Yes – we tell them about all the LS updates happening every 2 weeks in GW2 – but it all goes away too – and the LS leaves too much baggage and barriers for returning players to handle; they only see a fraction and might have missed lots of updates. But my guildies don’t see that – they would return if an expansion came to GW2 – but the LS format has no appeal to them and the weird thing is they fail to see GW2 with renewed content every 2 weeks is right there for free and instead go out buying new solo games, etc.

So, bring in new expansions with new races, professions and substantial new story missions and zones. No matter how much you preach it, Anet, the LS format won’t cut it in this regard. A massive chunk of content that is available anytime you login, fleshing out more of your world map in one go, existing, new and returning players can all see the same stuff.

I just really hope Anet are working on an expansion somewhere behind the curtains and that the 4 agile LS teams are providing fortnightly smaller updates until suddenly a big expansion can be announced to create more interest again.

Created this new thread since I couldn’t see another in the first 2-3 pages of this subforum; feel free to support the call so that Anet might see how many agree with this. Surely I’m not alone feeling like this…
