As a compromise, perhaps only allow us to make weapons* smaller* by a reasonable amount? Or allow us to increase decrease or increase by only a small percent.

Here’s what just happened to me. Not really essential to read if you agree with the idea. =)

I bought my female human warrior 2x corrupted skeggox.

I have seen a lot of people in human t3 with corrupted skeggox and it looks perfect. Sadly, I realized later, the people I’ve seen have been human males. I checked the preview a bunch, but its hard to really get a feel in the preview screen.

I bought the skeggox, equipped, and found that they are way too big for my taste. Proportionally, the axe is much larger on human females than it is on human males.

If I could simply reduce the size a bit, they’d be perfect. But I can’t. So I’m stuck with 80g spent on axes that don’t actually suit my tastes.

I’ve had this happen plenty of times with other items. In a game so focused on aesthetics, it can be pretty upsetting— in any other game, I’d feel like I was nitpicking, but aesthetics are really the endgame here.

This is something I’m gonna use on my asura if this is something we’ll get.
The weapon scale on the asura is too small compared to the other races, with this I can get a decent scale on my weapons.

This. I have a Norn Thief and his daggers and pistols are stupid tiny, I also have an Asura Mesmer whose greatsword is the same size as the Norn’s dagger…

I suggested this before and got negative feedback in the forum. Glad to see there’s some support now.

Even scaled down, all my Asura’s weapons drag on the ground when sheathed. (Many are POSITIONED wrong. Shrinking could help.) And I just despise oversized weapons in general. They look stupid in my opinion, not “awesome”. Don’t get me started on that Lamp Post that they call a Legendary Hammer.

THIS omg… I would also ask it be put on specific armors too (mostly shoulders), but weapons for sure… Most of my characters are female, and especially axes, greatswords, rifles, shields and maces have a nasty habit of being stupid sized (it would look right on a norn male who is 2x the bulky size of a norn female) or unusually small… in some cases. Like it was noted, it doesn’t need to be much, 5%-10% (for some of the worst offenders) plus or minus.

Also this change is one of those that I really wouldn’t mind staying client-side since lag in places like LA, zerg metas and wvw (where weapons are always rendered no matter whether other people’s armor is) would be intensified with potentially so many extra small packets having to be piped in and out

Should be noted, I dont like the idea of using things like UMod or whatever the current such program is because my personal experience has always been needless extra lag, not to mention that I don’t particularly trust the sites they are to be found on

Shoulders! What’s with the enormous shoulder armor that’s floating in midair?

My pauldrons from the dark armor set is floating in the air on my asura, but thats not the important, the important thing is downscaling and upscaling. Within a decent amount of course.
