Cap on dailies
So you are one of those people that take supply from towers that aren’t finished upgrading just so you can get your daily? You let the enemy capture camps just to get your daily? On top of it all you spend a lot of time just standing around taking up a slot? Normally I wouldn’t agree with a daily cap but you convinced me otherwise with your selfish “strategies”. Please don’t do these things. You ruin the game for people like me who primarily play WvW.
If you are asking Anet to limit the amount of AP you can get a day from dailies, then you are farming AP for the wrong reasons, or just being a “bad sport” about it.
You say you dont have enough time to grind all 15 PvE dailies and or 4 PvP dailies. And because you don’t have the time to do it, other people should be limited in their time or amount of AP they should get from the available 15 point AP daily.
Thats like saying, I want to be the fastest Olympic 100 meter dash sprinter. But i only have 4 hours to train each day. And because i only 4 hours to train, its only fair that others have limited time too so they stay on par with me….. You’re gonna have to accept that some people who play this game, might not have to work, or goto school. They don’t have friends or a social life. They might play this game everyday for 5+ hours a day. They do all dailies, both PvE and PvP. then when they are done, they go grind slayer and weapon AP’s. Or they grind out the mini-game AP’s that are available that day. Because they want to be first on the AP leaderboard. Being first in points in a game that is playable 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, is all about how much time you have to play it. And you sir, just don’t have as much as others.
And good for them. If they want to be first and they have to time to do it, guess what, they are gonna have more AP than you. Asking Anet to put a cap on the 15 point daily AP you can get is bad form.
Self discipline. The way it’s set up is that those who choose to spend their time on dailies can, while those who choose not to can do other things. I’d rather have my options open as opposed to one set rotation a day that a lot of games have. A-net has created a big world where we can do so much. Like the RL big world, what we do is dependant on out priorities.
You don’t need to do all daily or monthly options.
They are optional.
Not required.
Why should others be limited because you have a limit on what you can do? My play time is not dependent upon your play.
Here is a better idea that fits with me. Make all dailies required because I can get them all and since I can get them all you should also be required to get all dailies.
So I consider myself a competitive achievement hunter. I try to get as many achievements as possible. The problem is that getting all the dailies can take hours, which really cuts into time I could be doing something else.
You have made a choice to prioritize earning achievement points over “doing something else.” You can reorganize how you spend your time, if you aren’t having fun.
I have decided that I prefer to “do something else” first and then finish my dailies, assuming it didn’t automatically work out that way. If I’m waiting for others or figuring out what to do next, then I’ll also see if there any fun/easy points left to obtain.
So for example, I never join Keg Brawl because I find it stupefyingly boring. Similarly, I only play costume brawl if someone else asks.
It’s not really a good idea to ask for limiting something that effects other people merely because you are unwilling to set limits on yourself. There is an easy way for you to handle this and that is to set your own limits instead of asking ANet to hold your hand and restrict you and everyone else.
So I consider myself a competitive achievement hunter.
Stopped reading right here…
If you consider yourself a “competitive gamer” …. then you should actually be fighting OTHER PLAYERS …. not the point scoring system. You can even fight them through the Auction House if you want to, that counts also. But keeping score of who grinded the most arbitrary “Kill 10 Rats” quotas, DOES NOT MAKE YOU COMPETITIVE, it just makes you a …. (on 2nd thought I’m not even gonna complete this sentence, not after they infracted me for comparing “AP leaderboard toppers” to the WoW guy from southpark)
They should just remove dailies and monthly AP from leaderboards that’s all:)
