I have been saving up my Captain’s Council Commendation and they have been taken out of the game. That part about them being taken out of the game find so the donation packaging out of the game fine, however, taking the vendor out as well? WHY! Some of us still have Captain’s Council Commendation saved up. So now i have 883 of them, now I am told that they are useless!? If the vendor had been left in the game say a month after the donation packaging had been taken out then those of us that didn’t read about the vendor being taken out of the game would still have time to use what we could of our commendations. Further more back when I played EQ if they changed an item or took it out of the game then the said item was either changed into a new item or the player was provided with a way of converting them to something useful. Now I am being told too bad so sad, we don’t care about the time or in game money you used to acquire these Captain’s Council Commendation we took them out and your left holding them useless as they are. For crying out loud you could of at lest gave them a vendor sell back price.

So what do we have to look for in the future? Dungeon tokens being done away with and peeps who have been saving up and miss out on those tokens being taken out of the game being told it’s a hard knock life?

What other content is going to be changed with players being told “Oh you missed the announcement about this or that content being taken out of the game? Too bad now all that stuff in the bank is useless. Oh your not happy just post a reply on our support board.”!!! REALLY?

Got a few stacks of them. Didn´t hear anything about Lyns being removed. Thought i could at least keep my salvaging and harvesting tool up with those. Does anyone have the official statement of Anet?
Took some gold to get those. A compensation would be nice!

Yes post on the suggestion forums is the only response I can get.

You guys do realize that one of the forums announcements(the ones that appear in the great big red box with bold letters when you log in) was specificly for this, and now you come to the forums 2 months later after this announcement? I understand they should of added a way to get rid of your spares, but coming to the forum is a bad idea.

I don’t visit the forums unless I have an issue that I’m looking for an answer to, so even if an announcement was in the biggest, reddest box in the world with the boldest letters in the world, I still wouldn’t have known. I’m sure I’m not the only one, either.

I am also someone that never comes to the forums. Why would they do that and not send out a message in game “The lionguard almost has enough materials and will be shipping off soon” etc. The send us email about new events all the time, why not notify us in the same manner when it is ending?

No to more spam. I want less spam. You want to know whats going on in the game part of that is reading announcements and patch notes. It was posted in early Jan that it would be removed, we’re in march, thats plenty of notice.

Negative. The forum is supplemental to the game experience, not a requirement. Some of us hardly have enough time to play as it is without needing to troll around the forums for information on what’s happening in-game. A simple note to players’ in-game mailboxes would suffice.

I usually do scan through the patch notes and didn’t see it. Taking out a game feature, should be at the top of the list or deserve a special mention.
I also listen to two different guild wars podcasts and neither of them mentioned it.
You want less spam? yeah the 5-10 total in game messages they’ve sent us, have been so burdensome.

So it is.. but if I remember correctly, they announced the commendation vendor coming into the game via an in game email, it’s not that unreasonable to think they would announce the reverse in the same manner.

I too don’t visit forums regularly, would like to know what I can do with my commendations
