is their any way we can get a casino in game? that might get people to play more gw2 :P

maybe games where Anet wont lose out like poker, where the house rake in a winning % and its player vs player. this wont increase the amount of gold that is circulating around, It’ll just change hands between players so wont effect the economy. You never know it might get more people to buy gold with real money. and it’s not real gambling unless anet lets u cash gold into real money so no law is broken.

and maybe add fishing? this is the only mmorpg that doesnt have fishing. maybe something like ffxi’s fishing would be great. records the world’s largest catch by a player.

Wouldn’t mind the fishing; the fishing would be interesting but also can become very boring..unless you have to interact with the fishing animation! :O

Why do you want fishing? Adding fishing & casino games does not get people playing GW2….it gets people fishing & playing casino games. Those are different. Not to mention that it’s not Anet’s intention to make a game just like every other MMORPG. I’m sure you can find a ton of free apps for your phone/iPad to fish & play poker.

Casino? Gambling in game? With ingame gold? That people can buy with real life money? I believe you might run into some serious gambling law issues – at least in the US. I don’t think it will ever happen.

However if you like to gamble your hard earned ingame money, you can go and be on where the cow will land when launched from the Cow-tapult.

seras – i dont think Anet want people to mine and gather all day as well but it’s in game. It’s just something in game to keep people doing more things…and i dont think u know what Anet intention is. Their intent is to only make a game where lots of people play so they make money. That is the only truth. It’s a business. mini games help keep people ni the game world when they dont want to dungeon or PvP…just like how jumping puzzle is a mini game.

Not Casino. Fishing. Nice casual watch TV while I’m doing it fishing. You can hang out on Vent with your guild and shoot the breeze and fish for mats, etc.

Casino idea is fraught with issues.

There’s already gambling to an extent in the game, in Diessa Plateau. You can bet money on the cow races and also on the cattlepult. Think it’s 1g for the cow races and 50s for the cattlepult or something like that.

Gambling in games sucks. Full stop.
Gambling in games is jarring and ridiculous, it doesn’t encourage positive behavior.
GW2 already has too much “luck” based mechanics with the mystic forge. Keep your gambling kitten out of my game. It isn’t going to happen.

Gambling is illegal in certain regions in the world, given Arenanet cash to gem to gold transaction, that would make it super illegal.

anyways all i really want is fishing anyways since I fish a lot in real life. something like sega bass fishing would be sweet. I know that’s asking for alot. but something simple lilke ffxi is good to as long as it’s interactive and u get to fight the fish and set hook….and i mean fight the fish I dont mean attacking it. lol

Ever since Ocarina of Time, I have always wanted fishing in the games I play. WoW’s Stranglethorn fishing contest was the peak. Every week the fishermen and women would gather and the victor recieved an exclusive item of their choice. With how fantastic the water areas are in this game, I dream of fishing in GW2.

i just hope they dont make the fishing like WoW that was the worst fishing in a mmorpg.

You can buy gems for real money, trade gems for gold and then gamble the gold.
Just sayin’.
Besides, you can gamble all day at the mystic forge…

Daily/monthly rewards for one.

Let’s not having gambling. Let’s just have stud poker with non-exchangeable currency and items to wager with. Yeah there’s enough gambling with the mystic forge (what an item sink). I only want fishing if there’s a big ol’ marlin to be caught in the oceans and seas. :-)

This game gives us options to do things from dungeons to jump puzzles, but after you get certain things you want in certain area’s you tend to just wonder around & do nothing but grind/kill creatures do events for little silver & I am level 80 & I tend to find it boring plus it only gives you Skill points & you tend to just consume more for nothing.

To get to my point; fishing would be an interesting add-on to the game because you can add more crafting material [ cooking and jewelling ] , Fishing event’s where you can win something, add an achievement, get yourself a Title [ Master of Fishing ]. I don’t know but you can certainly add stuff like that! I do say if they thought about putting in fishing they should seriously think of fishing modes; where you can set it so that you are fishing & you can just walk away from your computer & do something, or have a mode where you can interact make it livelier. It’s just my suggestion

I would be very excited to find fishing as a minigame or gathering skill. I like to sit down and wait to get my fishies.

Well, worry not, for any fishing-acquired ingredients will be at minimum price in no time, as it is absolutely perfectly suited to bot duty.

The fishing Idea is awesome, and I would love to see this happen. But areanet already has a ton of mini games that they need to activate already!
