Champion count as a Veteran in daily
I think the reason it doesn’t is because then people could complete half their dailies in the dungeon.
Dailies are meant to be an open-world thing.

You can already complete the majority of your daily by doing dungeons. They have veteran mobs, events, healing, dodging, and even sometimes underwater enemies, so your point is semi-invalid.
A few obvious daily tasks can’t be completed in dungeons, but they are the easier ones like crafting and gathering.
Addressing the forum topic, I agree that Champion and Legendary enemies should count for the daily veteran kills, since they more challenging.
P.S. Champions exist in the open-world too…
Nemata Sapshield – Dragonhunter
Lillian Estre – Tempest
Putting myself behind this one. Agreed. +1
This would be nice.
Every single time I get the “Kill 5 Veterans” daily, I go do my 5 events and after killing 5 champions I say to myself “Well… Now to find some veterans to kill…”
It seems silly that tougher enemies won’t count towards this daily which seems to be designed as a “Kill something tough” that is designed for players of all skill (If it was “Kill 5 champions” then casual players or people whom don’t build for soloing champions easily would struggle, especially if they play at a time where events with champs in aren’t being done)
There’s two kinds of people… The quick and the dead”

There are a bunch of champions where are soloable without building for it. The ones I have come across and remember are ooze and spider in metrica, oakheart in queensdale, Chief Otyugh in Fields of Ruin, ogre beastmaster and ogre chieftain in blazeridge steppes.
They have also mentioned that with the addition of the ‘choose your daily’ system in the upcoming match they are okay with having some items that might be impossible for some people. Kill 5 champions could be one of those. If they add that then having champions count as veterans doesn’t make as much sense.
I don’t think they’ve ever meant to have all daily items to be equal in difficulty. One of the current ones is talk to a laurel vendor, the only thing they could add that would be easier is ‘log into the game’.
I wouldn’t mind if they even just counted as one.
It would take away from the Dailies though if you could take out two+ birds in one stone.

You mean like how you can find Veterans in some events to do Events + Kill Veterans?
Or how you can do Events + Kill X things daily requirements at the same time?
Even the Kill Variety can be done with Events as it can lead to some less encountered enemy types to appear (Pirates in some zones for example)
Events and Healer ones can also be done at the same time, especially the “Take back this town” ones.

I don’t why know it should?? maybe they’re saving it for something else. I don’t care that it doesn’t, no big deal to me.
Having champions count towards Daily Veteran Slayer? Sure, I guess. I think killing a champion should count as at least 2 veterans, or just fill the percentage completely.
No Daily Champion Slayer however. Champions are too irritating to be required for laurels.

How about they make it so champs always drop something decent first…champs aren’t worth the trouble as it is…it’s a tough fight (or simply a long/tedious one) when the drop rates from a champ are the same as a normal mob. Why waste the time/effort when you can kill 20-25 normal mobs for the same chance at loot you get from the champ?
Than there is another irony, it is easier to find champs than it is veterans in some maps. Which may be why it is specified.
I think there should be an achievement for killing all Champions.
hmm. where is an underwater event that has a veteran monster in it? That could be useful.

The upcoming change of the daily system will surely bring the answer, why champions won#t count…because as Colin has said, after the next update the daily system will et us choose 5 daily tasks out of 10 different tasks that will change every day.
So with 10 tasks that are daily different, they surely must have thought out for like 20 + different tasks to do, so that the daily task cycle can have multiple different mixings.
These 20+ different things could look like this:
1: Kill 50 Enemies
2: Kill 13 different species of enemies
3: Kill 5 Veterans
4: Kill 3 Champions
5: Kill 1 Legendary
6: Gather 20 Materials
7: Craft 10 items
8: Do 5 Events
9: Make 3 Jumping Puzzles
10: Do 3 Dungeons
11: Feed Zomorros with 20 Items
12: Kill 25 Enemies under water
13: Kill 10 Enemies with environmental Weapons
14: Revive 10 people/npcs
15: Dodge 15 attacks
16: Visit the Laurel NPC
17: Help in a Guild Mission
18: Kill 100 defenseless various creatures
19: Participate in a Bar Brawl
20: Win in Polymock
