Right now Basic Transmutation Stone can only be used on loot that is under level 80. With a new level 80 I craft a full set of rares to start them off, but never spend Fine Transmutation Stones on rares. I only use them on exotics. I’m sure there are others like me. This isn’t really an important suggestion, it is about vanity, but I feel like Basic Transmutation Stones should work on all non-exotic gear. This way people like me can change the appearance of rare items at level 80 instead of just waiting until they are in exotics to use the Fine Transmutation Stones.

Waste it on alternative characters that you are leveling up.

I do use the basic stones on gear for alts, but what I’m saying is that I never use either of the two transmutation stones on level 80 gear unless it is exotic. I’d like to use the basic stones on my alts once they reach level 80 and are using rare level 80 armor.

Agreed! Awesome idea! I still use some rare gear as I am too poor to buy full exotic at the moment and I still have plenty of basic transmutation stone. I think your idea is great.

i have over 50 basic stones, use exotics only since there’s no point of using Rares. So what do i do with my 50 basic stones? I repeat, what do i do with FIFTY basic stones!? There should be a way to trade something like 5 basic stones for 1 fine stone or i would even take 10 basic for one fine cuz right now all my fifty stones do (or will do) is waste 1 slot of my inventory.

Or allow us to swap 4 Basic for 1 Fine at the Mystic Forge?

I think anyone that wants to convert Basic T-stones to Fine T-stone like Swarfega is selfish.

T-Stones was meant to be a cash-shop item. Just be glad that you had the ability to get T-stones in-game at all.

@Nuka Cola if you want to waste 50 basic t-stones, make a new character. The starter armor is ugly. I would rather replace it with a more better looking higher level armor.

I think three levels of stones would work:

• Adept: any item <L79.
• Master: above + any rare item.
• Grandmaster: any item.

In addition, allow those who want the ability to combine Adept stones into Master ones and Master stones into GM level, e.g. using Mystic Stones (mostly from the gem store). This still allows the current revenue generators, but allows people who are done building alts to do something besides trash their low-level transmute stones. It will still cost them gems, but not as many.

Nah just give us a mystic forge recipe to upgrade the basic into the fine. problem solved

Most of you guys are completely ignoring ANet’s position on this. (Don’t worry if you don’t get it now, when you start paying taxes, you’ll understand.)

Just trust me on this:
If it can hurt the sale of Fine Transmute. Stones from the Gem Store… It’s already in their mental “No” pile.

They’ve already got a very reasonable system set up. Asking for more without considering their side is totally juvenile.

Here’s an idea they might actually go for:

• Make Basic Transmutations Stone no longer account-bound, so we can SELL them on the Trading Company.

- People who don’t want Basic T Stones can get rid of them
- New market for merchant-fanatics
- Does not hurt Fine T Stone sales
- Gives newbies more freedom/access to transmutation
- Encourages more gold-spending, which means Gems will be worth more, which can lead to gem for $$ sales going up
