Change Dailies to Weeklies
I don’t think the rewards are that impressive to justify this really. I wouldn’t mind a weekly acchievment in addition to the daily, but it seems to work fine for now. If you’re doing enough in two days to get seven dailies worth, I don’t think you need the extra rewards! o_o
Maybe not, but they do start to add up over a while and it does reward achievement points also.
I atually have no issues with dailies. So i miss by 1 event time to time. That is my fault not the game.
Now it wouldn’t hurt to add a weekly since i by choice will never see a monthly due to pvp which i no longer do
I don’t even do the daily achievement any more. The paltry reward is not worth my time. If I happen to get close to it on a char that I am leveling, I will try to finish it, but otherwise, I don’t bother.

Maybe you guys haven’t done it lately, but it does offer a jug of karma, which can give 4,500 karma and up to 7,000 karma with boosts. That’s close to 15 events worth of karma. If you care about your achievement point score it’s also an additional 10 points. One weeks worth of dailies buys you a piece of exotic gear.
I get that they probably want people to log in every day— that helps their gem store sales and keeps people playing but on the other hand it seems unfair to the players that can’t.
Oh. I haven’t really paid any attention to that!
?Karma! Huh! What is it good for??

Lobby for weeklies if you like but please leave the dailies alone. There’s no reason to rip something out when adding something else would suffice.
Against removing dailies. For me they are something to focus on while waiting for guildies.
I want boss dailies back, and maybe specfic dungeon paths similar to daily missions back in gw.
You can always grind out salvages if you want to boost your ach pts. Do events to generate cash, buy stacks of salvage items.
I like this idea in a sense.
In guild wars 1 you could “stack” up to 3 dailies at a time. If you couldn’t do them on Wednesday, for example, you could pick up the daily quests for Wed-Friday and do them all on Friday.
Having a backlog for dailies might be a good idea.
Today I am off work and can get on the game in the morning, but the Dailies don’t reset til tonight. So then I feel like I don’t get to play when I want. I am on some timer that I can’t control, which really zaps the fun outta the game for me.
It would be better to let me do all my Dailies for the week, anytime during the week and have it reset like on Sundays.

I don’t think you and Travis understand: OP doesn’t want them to be removed, he wants them to be able to be done on his time when he can do them…

no they got it.
If you chance dailies to weeklies then you would in essence be removing dailies.
Dailies should remain as they are. Adding a weekly would be nice as a said above.

Right. It should be obvious (I hope) that a weekly reset is not a daily, it’s a weekly. So as I said, go right ahead and ask for the addition of weeklies but let’s leave the dailies alone.
Well, adding additional weekly would not be bad. The more active players have a chance to get additional rewards. Those that have less free time during the day can make up for it anytime they choose to. Also it would be a nice plan b until (if ever) they remove World Invader kills from the monthlies.
It’s a win-win as I see.
I like having a daily. I never do the monthly. A weekly would be a nice addition (but not replacement).
Originally they were going to have weekly achievements but something stopped them, so I don’t think they will add a weekly and a daily. That might mess up the economy and how fast they expect players to get rewards.
The way my proposition is structured you could still do the daily one a day and it would be exactly the same as it is now, except if you miss a day you would have a chance to catch up.

yeah I want to be able to reset the the timer, so if like today I am off work I can do it in the early morning my time zone and not wait till night time when I will probably be doing something else and will end up not getting my daily in for the day at all.
That is the reason a weekly reset could be a even better option as on the days I work I might not even come on the game at all, but the off days I could make them up. Either way is fine but Anet might consider that braking the mechanic. Which I thought they were all about being, you know, for the casual gamer to begin with. So I see no reason why they could not help us out here.
I think that any mechanic that requires that players log in every single day is a little restrictive to modern day gamers.
Only “requires” if you want the reward. And it’s a pretty small reward. The Karma is very nice, yes, but the coinage and exp? You get more exp from roaming WvW for random event rewards and you can easily spend more than the reward amount from teleporting to different areas for the enemy types.
So I think they should change the daily achievement to be reset on a weekly time frame, so that even if you couldn’t play a day, you could still do twice the amount on the next day and get 2 mystic coins, jugs of karma etc…
Only once have I had the daily reset on me while I was about to finish it. However, that was my fault, as I wasn’t aware of the in-game time: I have the in-game clock showing my own time.
I think the easiest way to do this would be to have the daily reset (similar to how salvage master resets) every time you complete it, but you could only complete it 7 times in one week. That way if say you can only play on the weekends you could get the same amount of rewards as someone who is able to log in every day. It would be the same amount of effort— but gamers would just have more freedom to play when they can to complete the achievement tasks.
Not really a good idea. Personally, I tend to play by the Daily achievement a lot. Once I complete it, I’m done for the day. If we made it your way, I would probably end up doing the 7 dailies in a row and not playing for a whole week. And that’s not what anyone wants.
