In my opinion, I think all accounts should be granted at least one free display name change then have to pay money for the times after. In my case, since I don’t use the nickname Braixe anymore, it makes it hard for people to identify me. And if it doesn’t become an in-game feature then it should be allowed when you send in a support ticket to change it. I don’t see any reason to NOT have this feature already. Hopefully in the near future this can be implemented.

I mostly agree with you, it should be provided to some extent, apparently it hasn’t appeared yet because “suspect” individuals could use it to hide their past, or some such nonsense, if there are users so naughty that there are worries that changing their display name would cause anarchy on the forums why aren’t they banned already? flag them and don’t give them an option to change theirs, their bad rep shouldn’t ruin other peoples chances for one change! Admittedly, it should just be a one off thing to make all these people that have a desire to change their display name happy, but stop it from being exploited like they’re worried about, people changing it every 5 minutes would be a bit much, fair enough, but I fail to see what real harm a one off display name change would do, really, come on anet cater to the perfectionists.

I think we should be able to change it once. I made the mistake of putting my real name in my ID like an idiot. I’d love the change it to something else.

Gaile has said they don’t want to offer voluntary name changes for various security reasons. However, they will often change your name if it contains your real name, Writermark. You should try filing a ticket with support and explaining.
