Guild Wars 2

Currently all you need is 100g and you can be a rally point in wvw. Leading your team to honor and glory! Problem is since this is a game where you can legitimately buy in game gold, anyone with money can pay to lead people. I understand you don’t want to have any ranks in wvw, so there’s no kitten contests, but the requirements of this should at least require you to have some knowledge of wvw.

A character should have to earn say 500 badges for it, + 500k karma. It would weed out some of these credit card commanders. I watched a commander treb an empty supply camp, for 15 min’s after we capped it.
I have a huge list of examples, that’s just the most recent.

As for pve commanders…. who cares?

I’ve yet to see a commander that didn’t help greatly in WvW. Who is going to spend 100g on something they don’t want to use?

Half the time rallying around a commander is all you need to get enough people together to get things done, if they have good orders even better.

I’ve seen that. They also mentioned that they bought gold from a third party company.

There are a ton of Commanders who buy it just for the symbol, it’s not just limited to people who buy it with a credit card either.

Here is the thing, I have out lead people on the battle field that have the commander rank, and had commanders cuss me out cause I lead the team better and the field better. Maybe that is because I have actually been in the military and that helps a lil. Now I haven’t spent the 100 gold as I am working to my legendary, but where I understand stupid people are stupid your suggestion also cuts people like my self off from ever getting it if I so choose too. I took what was already a 5 hour fight for three points and in an hour in a half I took all three points and turned and took 2 more from the second opposing force.

So I understand your complaint and I understand that players like me with the understanding I have are very few but we are out there and there are just good players that can step into a game like so and be a good leader regardless of time spent.
