So, I’ve always wondered why cosmetic outfits cannot be used anywhere without a penalty. If you want to see a really well done cosmetic system, check out Lord of the Rings Online. The way its done there makes excellent sense, and even gives incentives to purchase more cosmetic slots from the cash shop. If we could get a system similar to that, I would be much more inclined to spend gems on cosmetic gear. The way we have it today makes it very difficult to swap out clothing, and I pretty much ignore the town clothing completely, just not convenient, with little options.

Basically, you have multiple cosmetic tabs. Each tab holds a copy of whatever you drag onto that spot. Then, the item you used can be disposed of, stored, or whatever you want, but the cosmetic will stay until it is replaced on that tab. This allows you to use the cosmetics of low level armor, cosmetic only ‘fluff’ items (like holiday stuff) and stuff you get from the store that are cosmetic only. You also have the option to buy more cosmetic tabs, if you like have more than 2 outfits that you can swap to. Using this system, you still gain the bonuses from your armor and weapons, but now you can wear the outfit of your choice, whenever and wherever you want.
