When my character goes stealth, it is like he turns into water, and there is a distorted transparency to him. It’s very hard to see, even for me, but it is visible if you look carefully.

What I’m suggesting is that this effect be applied to enemies who stealth. It’s a compromise between the thief/mesmer conceptually being able to hide in shadows/escape notice; and the unfairness of a skill that debuffs the person playing the other character (rather than the character itself).

It would make it still very hard to detect a stealthed player running around, but a skilled player could. It would also make it creepier seeing blurs here and there and trying to follow them. A stealthed person would (as they should conceptually) have to think about when to move, when to stand, and where to do each to be less visible. For people who complain about Thieves being a faceroll class, this would add some complexity to it, without changing any numbers.

An option would be to make them fully invisible when standing still but camouflaged when moving.

This effect is for the player, your opponents see nothing.

This thread almost seems like another Nerf stealth cause it is OP.

Outside of HS spam noobs that spam one skill, why do you think people feel that thieves are faceroll. I have recently picked up a thieve and been playing Cloak and dagger build, along with a stealth build and they are far from Faceroll, and are very complex.
