If you played in the early betas you will know that Anet changed the seraph armour from the tier 3 cultural armour to the pathetic scale armour.
I know it is to make the cultural armour more unique and special but the current armour of the seraph looks more basic and a tad ugly, and the cultural armour clearly fits the Seraph better.

Out of all the Police/Army of all the races the Seraph look the least cool/threatening but the Seraph look kitten with this armour on.
I much prefer it the way they have it now, the standard guards have that scale armor and the captains and higher ranks of the seraph have the T3 armor. That’s how it should be. In a army you don’t see every person wearing the best armor, the higher ranks have it to stand out and that’s how it is here. I wouldn’t want to see a low recruit wearing the same T3 armor that my warrior has.
Also not every seraph used the T3 armor even in beta, but alot more did wear it.
I don’t like how different the armours are from each other though(the high ranked and the normal), and also like I said the current armour has no character to it, in the betas when I looked upon the original armour I saw “Seraph Armour”. Now when I look upon it I just see scale armour, It doesn’t fit the elegance and finesse of the seraph.
I can understand having different sets for ranking officers and such, but that armor on the right actually looks like it’s pieced together from a couple different sets. Maybe it’s just the way it’s dyed, but I used that top on my guardian for quite a while and do not remember that bottom going with it (loaded it up, not the same bottom at all). Unless I’m mistaken that’s the Reinforced Scale Chest, but that’s not the Reinforced Scale Legs (crafted version at least), and they do not look like they match at all.
That’d be my only complaint really.

If I am going to wear a t3 armor, I better look like I have prestige. I am not going to wear the best looking armor to look like a foot soldier.
I understand your point but the current armour just doesn’t look seraph-y at all, Just makes it look like any old foot soldier.
But if all the seraph was to wear that armor then it would look seraphy as it would be their armor. As for the other person talking about the set not matching Anet do this with most npcs. Alot of the “higher ranked” seraph guards often wear a mix between T2 and T3 armor and the right side scale armor (normally just the T3 chest with other gear)

It makes the armor feel more rewarding like “only the best of the best warriors get to wear this armor”. If every seraph use T3 then it just looks like the standard human armor.
change the right armor if anything but don’t make them all wear T3. But i don’t know what lvl you are, which areas you have visted but the seraph all seem to wear different armor. Some wear the full scale armor, some wear that right side. Some wear T3 full set some wear a mix between scale and T3. Some wear T2 and some mix T2 with T3 and other armor sets. So maybe that one in the screenshot is just one of the ugly looking ones.

The issue I have is that the cultural armour still seems to me like the Seraph armour, and it fits the Seraph more lorewise aswell. Like you said earlier some Seraph still have this armour, but this is because Anet didn’t get to change all of the Seraphs armours in the game in time due to the game’s release. It’s not the high-ranking seraph most of the time but differently named characters, It’s the characters with separate models to the default seraph.
The screenshot shows a basic Seraph grunt. The higher ranking officers have fancier stuff. It makes no sense for the basic grunts to wear T3 armour, it is fine. With their winged shields they have a unique look anyway.

I don’t see where you get this from. Anet could have easily changed the armor to the scale armor if they wanted to before launch. Like i’ve said, different guards wear different armor, some wear T3, some T2, some scale and others a mix of different outfits. I’m sure if Anet wanted them to all be scale armor they would not have bothered to make them wear so many different outfits in the first place. The point is you would not see a recruit or a unimportant footsoldier wearing the seraphs top uniform. That is like joining the army now and getting apointed every medel possible straight away. You feel like T3 is the seraph armor because it is the captains armor, the queens personal defenders, like logan who wears his brothers uniform who was always at the queens side. These are the top of the very top when it comes to the seraph and so they wear the top armor to repersent it.
And the fact that it’s normally the names characters that wear T3 instead of the basic “Seraph Guard” is because those named characters are important enough to have a name. They are the top ranking officers in the Seraph and therefore wear their armor to show it.
This is like the difference between wearing a basic looking exotic weapon and wearing a legendary weapon that only the “best of the best” can get. You wouldn’t see a low lvl person runing around is the best possible armor so why would every basic seraph guard in the game wear it?

The seraph are not fancy, they are just an army. They are the humans army. Doesn’t mean they’re all amazing people and deserve the best of everything just because they are called Seraph. The only difference between the seraph and others such as the lionguard or the peacemakers is that they fight for their queen, they protect their queen. Doesn’t make them any more superior to anyone else and so no, they should not have the best looking armor. You people say T3 is the seraph armor because afew of the top officers wear it. when infact more Seraph wear the scale armor which would make them seem more like the seraph armor.
T3 is not worn especially by the top officers or whatever, It was only the default Seraph that changed people like Seraph Watchman or Seraph retaining other names to the default did not have their armour changed. This shows this armour change was a rash decision taken at the last stages of development of the game.
This current post also show a complete lack of understanding of the thread when your say “when infact more Seraph wear the scale armor which would make them seem more like the seraph armor” . In the beta of the game, All of the seraph wore T3 cultural and they looked amazing, bad kitten and tough.
And the Seraph isn’t some standard army, The best armour in all the human lands is reserved for them (Which isn’t scale armour). They are very fancy indeed!
But anyway the main reason I want this changed back is because I still have memories of the betas of how amazing the Seraph looked, To me now they just look weak and boring.
No, not EVERY seraph wore the T3 armor in Beta, there is a npc in claypool that i can remember that wears only the chest and legs of T3 and that was in beta too. In the beta a good number of npcs also wore the CM gear. I remember this because after i saw them (there are afew in claypool that wear full CM gear) I knew that i wanted that armor because those guards looked good it in but not every guard wore it. In beta afew of the guards also wore the basic scale armor. But guess what, some of the guards still wear the T3 armor so go and have memories of those.

The one in claypool still wears that armour, When I say in the beta they wore the T3 armour I mean the default Seraph. Also you said some of the guards still wear it which is basically bugger all, Well I want it changed because Anet changing their armour has changed the entire feel of the Seraph.
And personally I do not remember seeing any basic scale armour in seraph in the betas although I may be wrong.
