Change the Zhaitan fight a bit.
i wanted to actually shoot at multiple dragons on the boat. i mean, there’s lots of cannons, but there is no real chance until the end to use them. i only did the mission once, but most of it was fighting on the smaller deck, with AOE poison covering most of it at any time.
i hopped into the turret, but there was nothing to shoot at. and being hit while in turret mode.
Fight.
Is.
Bugged.
Fight.
Is.
Bugged.
Or was never finished in the first place, but yes, the official explanation is that it is bugged.
Bugged or not finished, either way it’s not working as intended.
I just finished Arah Story today… BIGGEST DISAPOINTMENT SO FAR. I don’t have many with this game, its great and entertaining overall but this is an Elder Dragon, not some shiny right hand lad, and his fight was easier than just the minions. I’m sure it isn’t working as intended but for future Elder Dragons, I hope they are much more complex and rewardin than this.

I wish Zhaitan was bigger, he seems only as big as the shatterer
1. Zhaitan needs to be bigger.
2. Zheitan needs to be an actual threat and danger, apart from his actions in the cutscenes.
3. Less annoying adds on deck, more fun with canons – more skills, dragons dodging your shots, the need to block their attacks, additional flying adds to aim for.
4. Kill someone important. Kill Logan. Or Traherne. Whatever. There is a lack of drama. I don’t want a cheesy Disney happy ending. Let Traherne sacrifice his life to deal the final blow to Zheitan or something.
5. Make the Zheitan encounter more epic. Let him crush some mountains, add more ships that attack him. You do not attack an Elder Dragon with 1 puny ship! Make him destroy some of the other ships, maybe with some of our friends.
if they don’t Change the Zhaitan add a free content patch were we fight him again because he’s not actualy dead…. and this time actualy make it epic… Let us kill him see him fall put a sword in his eye and chew his face off.

we dont want it easy we just want it to feel like we are actualy kicking his Kitten!
hell a dungeon were we have to fight him as all 3 boss’s each time he looks more F-ed up but he keeps getting stronger like he is getting more dessprit.

why is the big bad boss so week, his Adds are stronger than him that just isn’t right.

Im with you on this love the game as a hole but story and rewards are what will keep me coming back.
right now one just fails at the end and the other is busted….
How I imagine it:
Shorten the Cannon Part to roughly 2-3 minutes. (5-6 minutes if they make us aim in some way)
Then Zaithan is nearly gone for good. In a desperate attempt he wipes the whole line of cannons on that side of the ship and clings himself onto it with two claws. You could actually start a timer and make it seem like the ship is actually going down due to his weight (passing through the clouds, seeing the ground come closer). This timer should be easy to beat though, as in 6-7 minutes fight with a 10 minutes timer
You can now attack the claws, which have seperate HP each.
Once both claws are defeated he’ll drop down.
He has a varying number of attacks:
-Claw Swipe (only uses this while both claws are still intact ; if the holding claw gets destroyed while he is claw swiping he could instantly die or he could just drop down and pull himself up with the intact claw disabling him for 5 second)
-Doing things with those little heads of him. Could include small spit attacks, small swipe attacks or even a grab that will pull a player off the ship (which takes some time and other players could free him by killing the head grabbing him)
- A big Spit attack (perhaps even creating some adds)
- Some breath, etc.
On a general note I am slightly disappointed on how static bosses in general are. Obviously for something of the size of Zaithan there is not much choice. But at least make there damage zones move with their animations. Ever hit a leg of a huge boss and wondered why you do no damage? Well because his leg moved, but the damage zone didn’t, which means you actually need to attack a space of air.
On medium sized bosses, I would consult otehr movement and stamina based Games (like monster Hunter, since they even manage to do it with giant bosses, even though that would be mostly unfitting for huge MMo bosses ; The ability to stand on moving objects might also be usefull for future jumping puzzles and boss fights ; Example video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gvv7HWw3wUo)
I already mentioned it in another thread,i was also extremely dissapointed in the last mission,and especially in the way we defeated zaithan.The only “omg” moment for me was at the very ending when he flew by the ship a couple of times,that really looked awesome.But for the rest of it,how we killed him and how it all ended was dissapointing to say the least.

Not a bit, a lot.
First of all, in game he looks like he’s made of drakes, not dragons. Come on, his head in the loading artwork is bigger than his in game model.
Secondly, the fight needs nearly a total overhaul. I get the part with the cannon, but instead of making us shove a few undead off Zojja’s ears, how about making us feel desperate, trying to make the cannon work while Zhaitan literally chews off parts of the ship?
And you CAN make a person feel desperate. Just a mission before, trying to keep the risen clear off Trahearne in that cave, with the fadeout on the sound effects, the music kicking in, it was great. Do it again!
Finally, moving to the second part of the fight… Five or so minutes, sitting in one place, spamming one key, while THE ELDER DRAGON, ZHAITAN, sits on a rock, eating fireworks in the face, going “HURR, WUT DO NAO”. This part needs to be completely deleted, it’s probably the most boring moment of the whole game.
