Change the downed system
The thing that frustrates me the most about this games pvp is the downed system, it rewards bad players and punishes skilled players. Like let’s say there was a group of 10 people, and I was skilled enough to take down 3 without dying.
Going 1v10 isn’t skillful, it’s stupid…
And regardless of my skill downing those 3 players, I get no credit for a kill.
Why would you? As you said yourself you only downed them, that’s not a kill…
It only rewards groups that have the most players.
Err…Both teams can have equally many members…why did you split from your team?
Also, that kind of zerging only happens in hotjoin…as if anyone cares how hotjoin works.
[…]because the biggest problem is people getting revived INSTANTLY by 2-3 players while they are downed.
Yeah, usually the one with back-up tends to win, funny huh?
And my suggestion to you is bring back-up, don’t go 1v10 (even if 1v8 is max), and stop thinking about downed as killed, it’s more akin to critically wounded…
guild wars 2 is a team game.
be a team player?

I was not defending solo pvp, I was creating an example. Perhaps I should have used 10v20. The point still stands, the group with the most players always wins regardless of skill, therefore rewarding the bad players.
Being downed isn’t dead, you haven’t killed them. When they are down, you need to finish the job, and actually kill them. If your group of 10 can’t beat a group of 20 because none of you are finishing the job, then perhaps the group of 20 players are not bad, and you only lost because you were out numbered.
I would say a group that is helping each other back up after being wounded in battle, is actually a skilled group, because they are paying attention to each other to help each other.

That’s my point, it does not take any skill at all to spam F an entire fight just to instantly revive everyone that gets downed when it takes an abnormally long time to finish someone off (Like I said, in Neverwinter it’s less than a half of a second which is realistic.) when you have to raise your arm in the air like a moron and spin around and jump before finishing them off, instead of just instantly stabbing them while they are down which is faster and makes more sense.

well there is always strength in numbers so, i would call it, rewarding the larger group.
i.e.
“3 stooges can beat 1 Einstein”

Once again as I have said many times, that completely removes skill from the game making it simply a button mashers game rewarding players that are bad. Good players are punished for being good. When they were going to release this game they promised a “fast-paced, skill-based combat system” when really it’s just rewarding bad players with free kills simply because they have a friend or two follow them 24/7.
I mean this game even rewards bad players in pve, take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBxStGB6-UE
good players know how to stick together, cover each other.
bad players die alone and wonder why.
I say just remove the downed system completely PvP and PvE. All people due is just exploit it by get a creature one hit from death when they go down so they can self rez quickly.

that is called playing the game as intended, not an exploit.
that is the whole point of the rally system.
team mates can help them to kill something so they can rally, or they could revive them manually.
sometimes killing something is faster.
playing the game as it is meant to be played is not an exploit.
I know what you mean, being able to fight 1vs6 in wvw downing 3 of them and than haveing to work your a*s of to keep downed players as downed(i wont even mention attempts to stomp them) and at the same time try to down remening 3 is realy annoying.
BTW Guild wars 2 is an mmorpg not a team game(its not a sport game its rpg), you can play it however you want, also in wvw(since i dont realy play spvp) team work 80% of the time is equal zerg/blob kamikaze rush.
p.s. whether op meant spvp or not downed state is in wvw too, and wvw is also a form of pvp, and even in spvp the only place wher you will see a team work is in turnaments.
I have said it before but i will say it again.
What i think would be the best solution is if you could not res downed allies while in combat.
And when you’re dead? too bad go to the waypoint you lost now get lost.
This should apply for pvp only.
