Changes to party kick system
I think at least three people should give the option to kick not just two. Even all four other players to decide the vote. I do not agree with people being added to a block list however as this can cause in game abuse that is just a headache for anyone.
Even better to just scrap the system all together. You usually find early on in a dungeon if its not going to work, and being kicked at the end is just frustrating. Also the game is going to attract more people before it starts losing more. So a lot of new people are going to need the help, when you are half way to the end of the dungeon or near the end your not going to want to kick someone who doesn’t know the strategy. You will however be more inclined to help the person through.
If you want a clear easy run, then run with people you know such as friends or guildies. Or even ask in channels for experienced people. This system allows people to help all the way through to then be kicked near the end to allow a friend to take the place for the reward.
People need to remember that we where all ‘newbies’ once and we all either found our feet via help from people or dying many a time, finding the right way to do stuff.
This sounds like more elitist hogwash. How about… this is a game….and it is meant to be played by everyone and enjoyed by everyone equally. This kind of stuff should be reportable and should also lead to suspensions and revocations. Once you are in, kicking should be disabled. You start together, you finish together.
I think we should be able to remove players from the party, with a majority vote. Today, I was running FotM and we lost a guy just as we finished the first fractal. We waited and waited, even did the first part of the second fractal as far as we could 4-men it, but he never logged back in. So after 10+ minutes, we removed him and got a replacement. There is no way we could have finished the run with just 4 people.. there are times when being able to remove a party member is a must, though I agree, it can be abused at times. Which is why I agree with the OP, change it to a 2 vote system to a majority kick.
Blocking people is something I do to remind myself that a player is unreliable, such as instance owners who ragequit out of dungeons, kicking the rest of the party out and forcing them to restart, or who kick me because I’m a ranger. It lets me know not to play with them again. But I can’t do it if I don’t know their names.
And if you don’t know their names, you couldn’t report them. GW1 had a “recent played with” category in the friends list, which would actually be a decent work-around if party chat can’t be retained when kicked. It would also assist in issues like Axvil stated, where a player gets kicked after a long absence. It’d give him/her the opportunity to re-establish contact with the group.
