A short thing, and a simple thing.

Would any guild leaders out there be interested in having Guild Tag management be a thing?

Currently, once you have registered your guild name and tag, it cannot be changed. This can potentially be a problem if you share a tag with another guild. There are several out there presently which use the [RP] designation, for example.

I don’t see any problem with this. It’s not like you’re changing the whole guild name or anything.

Why not? Still, this would be at the bottom of my “wish list for guild improvements” — there are a lot of other simple/complex suggestions I’d like to see first.

I agree, when you’re running around your server looking for a certain guild tag, to try and get one of its members to contact someone with the rights to invite to the guild its a bit annoying when say… (Made up Guilds for reference) Crazy Tyrian Explorers [CTE] and I find that tag, but its a different guild. Then I whisper the wrong person, wrong guild, different friends.

Not to mention everyone wants their character, their guild to be -their- personal story. When you find someone with the same tag, without being able to change it… well, lets just say the ‘unique’ story we came here for isn’t so much unique.
I may seem a bit over-zealous on this(WOW GAL CALM DOWN.) lol… but it would be a -nice- tool to have. A little guild editing is nice, don’t you agree? Its not like we’re asking for it right here and now… but something to have on the way down the road of our Gaming Career in GW2.

In before the .. wait wrong storyline!

Somewhere out there as I’ve seen this so many times over on the server I play on we have guilds which have the same guild tag which to some guild leaders out there can be quite problematic as their members or even from a player’s standpoint can be confused for being members of another guild at a glance. Guild names being permanent upon guild creation is fine however guild leaders who want that unique factor to their guild [The Guild Tag] should be changeable. How many times has a person created a guild with a certain guild tag but later on had the inspiration later on for the perfect guild tag and wish to change the current one for a new tag without the loss of any gained influence or having to remake the entire guild and reinvite all your members?! >_<

This is a feature I would love to see in the future~

Echoing what the others have said above, as the lack of a name change is problematic. You can easily spend several gold upping your influence to get off the ground, only to realize that your tag could be better or that there are 23 [ASDF]s on the server, 22 of which are not your guild members! So having the option to switch the name, even if there’s a small fee attached, would be a great improvement.
