I did some searching and digging around and did not find anything on the gw2 forums so I’m tossing this idea out here. This was brought up in GW1 and pretty much ignored, hopefully this can be brought into consideration.
When you login into Guild Wars 2 and chose your character to play you have a back ground that’s dominantly white with a faintly paints castle and other scenery. The idea I purpose is more or less changing it based on a couple of factors depending on which route ANET deems to be more player friendly.
A) The background would change based on the season with a option to revert back to original so those players who find holidays to be against their moral beliefs can revert it back to default.
B) The background would change based on the current zone that their lead character is currently at with an option for players to revert back to the original background if the location that their lead character is at is to “ugly or morally wrong for them”.
C) Racial/ Class based backgrounds that would change to adapt to your current characters Race and class with an option to revert back to the original background for those who view their race/class “morally wrong for them”.
D) Guild Based backgrounds that would be done in their guilds colors and their guild banner being the dominant image, With a revert back to the original background for those who view their guild “morally wrong for them”
shouldn’t have to put morally wrong for every option but ‘ey that’s the world we live in these days and that seems to be the base root complaint for everything.
If i had to chose any of the options i would go with option A or B. I would love the ability to login and have my character select screen all decked out for the season or have something new to look at instead of the same painting every single time.
