The way that you change the colour of you characters armor is very frustrating to use. Can I suggest the following changes:

When you select a dye then go to the armor swatches can the colour show on your character when you hover over the swatch.

When you do not have a dye selected can hovering over a swatch highlight the corresponding armor piece.

not quite sure i understand what you’re trying to say…

there is however a Preview function for dyes in game

Server: Kaineng | Guild: Blackflame Legion [BFL]
Perhaps the only RP-oriented guild on the server
Main Character: Farathnor (sylvari ranger) 1 of 22

I though I was pretty clear…
When you go to dye mode to change the colour of your character, after pushing ‘H’ to get the hero pane it would be better if, once you have selected the dye you want for it to change on your character when you hover the pointer over the swatch (the little squares next to the armor icon) rather than having to actually set it.

I for one can never remember for example what the bottom right swatch changes on the chest armor or the bottom left on the gloves, and it changes from armor to armor.

Hover preview would sort this and save time while you try to get the colour combinations just right.

I think I know what Cardstar is saying – he wants it where you select the color swatch on a piece of armor, and then when you hover over a color in the palette, it automatically displays the color.

While I agree that this would be useful – especially when trying to match armor pieces that display shades differently – this happens to be a case of “effort would be better spent elsewhere”. The current system works fine and I have no problem having to apply the colors… I would rather the devs create new content or fix broken mechanics rather than spend time doing this. Now if someone had some spare time… this is indeed a very good idea.
