Charater Modification - Race Change
I hear ya mate, i have tried endlessly to have this implemented, alas, it’s not going to happen. ANet have already stated that they will not be implementing this feature.

Any idea as to why? I don’t see how it would affect anything significant in the game. At worst, you would have to do their origin quest for the new race.

Well, that’s a bummer. Oh well, I’m not going to reroll 80 levels just for RP reasons.
same here and since i have gone back to my Asura warrior, i am loving him again.. so actually its all good

My Asuran warrior isnt funneh anymore…. too bad I dont want to discover the map again/get the stuff etc… I’ve seen lot of threads about this and I dont see why they’re not considering, only with the ppl requesting this feature in the forums ( taking into account than a half of the playerbase check forums ) they’d make a lot of money… That would be perfect for future expansions developing or idk…
PS: Sry about my grammar.

The reasons I’ve seen cited by ANet representatives were:
Complication of personal storyline. If the storyline is left unchanged from where it stood before race change, characters would have incorrect and often nonsensical storylines attached. If storyline is revised but not replayed, issues arise of an expedient method of determining all choices made during the storylines. If storyline is replayed, players re-obtain all storyline rewards, including experience, unique weapon and armor skins, gold, karma, Guild Commendation Letters, etc. Establishing a way to prevent storyline rewards based upon whether the character is re-running story would be complicated.
Cultural armor. Any cultural armor obtained on the character would be unusable due to the race change. ANet currently has no way to refund items. Automatic substitution for appropriate cultural armor is incredibly complicated and nearly impossible due to transmutation of cultural skins onto other armors.
I’m sure they’d like to be able to, because it would make lots and lots of money. But it wont happen </3
It can´t be that hard, I mean it’s just sooooooooo profitable for them. They are paying a high opportunity cost imo. But as I see It they dont want to implement the feature in part due to the Gw1 purists who would complain about how Anet is destroying the game etc. I just dont have enough spare time to re-level another Warrior and get all the stuff on my current one, so sadly we will have to stay as we do now.. Good luck to everyone ^^

I would suggest that if race change is implemented then the customer agrees to forfeit all rewards from Personal Story up to the level at which they made the race change. This would be fair all around.

It’s a moot point because ANet reps have confirmed that it isn’t going to happen.
I must admit i would pay to use this service if it was introduced.
Let me put my spin on it. Player race change could be done as follows:
I player selects to make the race change through the gem system.
The toon in qustion is then highligted for change on the character log in screen. When the player picks that toon, it goes through the complete character creation as if it was a new toon picking story etc.
As far as the armor issue goes, the toons amour is reset to default lvl 80 (PvP armour)or the basic armour upon creation completion, this is the downside to race change, if players want it then they will take the hit. all skills and talents are reset and the player then embarks on his new adventure, new storyline etc) everything else remains the same, the world explored, Karma and the player level etc.
So as i see it, the only downside to this is the armour change, If other MMOs can do it very successfully then, what is the issue.

as someone that rerolled 2 asuras into humans to equip legendary at a normal size … i dont think its going to ever happen…
besides 350 is too little as cost… should be 800 atleast if not over 1k even… coz u get to keep lvl 80 etc… so should be more pricy than char slot and leveling time
