I think this has been suggested before, but it warrants being brought up again, IMO. Anet, please consider the following enhancements.
- Allow chat to be logged to text files
- Enable copying from the chat window
- Increase the size of the chat buffer (possibly not needed if allowing the logging of chat were implemented)
I think these would be positive, or at worst, neutral, changes for everybody; I can’t think of anybody they would present a hindrance to. They would be enormously beneficial to RPers (go back and look at your logs, if you choose to log your chats, and see what you talked about the last time you met). Even if you don’t RP, there may fairly frequently be conversations going on that you can’t keep up with at the time, but would like to review after the fact. I am fortunate to belong to an active guild, and this happens to me constantly (losing the first half of a conversation because it went out of my buffer). Thoughts, fellow players? Anybody for or against?
