Class armour upgrades and downgrades?
this has already been suggested in a thread called “light, medium, heavy and….?” so you can go there for plenty of valid reasons why this will never happen and has many issues with implementation
I think there’s enough variety with the types of armour your character can wear. So here’s what I was thinking. Instead of making new armour (which im not against) why not give some classes the ability to upgrade there armour type. For example for 100 or maybe even 150 skill points and 10 to 20 gold an engineer can gain access to heavy armour. BUT they could be a downside such as no upgrade slots or casting time increased by 1/2 of second. This could also work with elemental and Mesmer.
Also there could be armour downgrades for the same price for warrior or guardian which allowed them access to medium armour and this gave them less protection but reduced cast time up cast time. Instead of cast time it could be recharge rates of skills.
I think it would be quite cool idea and could also create more builds as there might be an engineer using a tool kit with heavy armour and a warrior that can go berserk and do damage fast but can also die quickly.
Any thoughts?
