Currently, changing your trait build involves locating a vendor and paying a small fee to redistribute your trait skillpoints. Imo, this makes it a bit of an inconvenience for the player to change their build regularly. The Anet team has done a great job promoting build experimentation with the new Jubilee Gauntlet content. I can imagine alot of players have stubbornly stuck with one build since character creation and they are being forced to learn their class a bit more. My point is, it should be easier to experiment with your class build. I personally prefer a high single-target dps PvE build and an AoE focused WvW build and occasionally lose the will to go and change my trait layout just to do a different activity for the night. Yes there are conveniently placed vendors in WvW and major cities but honestly, walking to a dude to do something like that seems like busywork to me. Also, 2s man!
This has most definately been requested in the past but I thought of a couple of ways it could be implemented:
1. Free traitpoint redistribution from the GUI.
2. Seperate trait/armour/weapon loadout when switching to WvW (as it is in sPvP)
3. ‘Build’ slots. When at the click of a button, your entire build changes instantly (with seperate secondary slots for armour/weapons instead of having them cluttering the inventory). Maybe these ‘Build slots’ could be unlocked with the achievement chests? 5k, 10k, 15k and so on?
Anyway, i think currently its quite clunky and arduous to change your build and equipment loadout. It could be so slick and it would promote build diversity and experimentation instead of everybody sticking to the same ‘one build to rule them all’ mentality we have just now. You see questions in the class forums like “What is the best build for PvE AND WvW” and thats because people want to settle on one catch-all build for every situation.
