Clones: Stop Attacking Non-Aggressive Mobs?
I’m in agreement that clones should shatter on my current target, but at the same time, it does add an element of “Chaos” to the profession. I get the feeling that while the current behaviour may not have been intended, they’ve left it the way it is to add flavour.
It’s a running joke in my guild that my Mesmer can aggro mobs from the NEXT MAP.
(I’ve +1ed your post by the way; while I find current clone behaviour amusing, I would prefer the consistency offered by your solution)
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
Ive never had a clone/phantasm not attack my target , I mean sure when i shatter them i may aggro a non hostile or it may spin through my target and aggro a non hostile but they were still attacking my target from the start .
i agree with adine, my clones attack only the target i target and disappear when said target dies.
i only wish AoE was that large to hit enemies on the next map (would be useful for farming purposes).
if i change target before a shatter they still shatter on the target they were set on

That’s another issue I have with my girls. After I’ve created them while targeting an aggressive, when the aggressive dies, before shatter, they’ll also attack non-aggressive mobs. And that’s the ones that actually stayed on target. I don’t get it. I could just be imaging things, but it seems like the occurrences of such happenings have increased as of late.
And I agree, it can be quite amusing at times. But it’s mostly annoying when you’ve already got a large group of mobs in battle with you, and your clones drag in a few Moas to top if off. =D
